I found a couple like you say and e-mailed the seller via ebay. they say S905 in the listing, but they confirm they are actually s905x via message and have been "upgraded". Annoyingly, the listing shows S905, then the description images show S905x. Try amazon.co.uk and search for "S905 Lollipop" Andre RE: Budget AMLogic S905/S905X/S912 Media Player Options - Jeffers24 - 2017-03-24 (2017-03-24, 20:24)andrewilley Wrote:(2017-03-24, 20:17)chaosengine Wrote: . Seems to hold its' own: http://www.cnx-software.com/2016/01/29/amlogic-s905-vs-s812-benchmarks-comparison/ bob RE: Budget AMLogic S905/S905X/S912 Media Player Options - nickr - 2017-03-25 (2017-03-24, 22:08)chaosengine Wrote:You could get an odroid c2.(2017-03-24, 22:01)nickr Wrote: What is wrong with a s905x? RE: Budget AMLogic S905/S905X/S912 Media Player Options - wrxtasy - 2017-03-25 Blasphemy ! - why would purchasers spend extra money on a C2 for: - Gigabit Ethernet - Superior HDMI-CEC control vs all other LE AML platforms - due to open sourced U-boot code. - Reference Hardware status - LE development platform. - Automatic LibreELEC updating if using official LE builds. - Self programmable IR receiver - use any remote you want. - Safely - Overclockable - Properly, engineered & manufactured with reliable quality componentry Decent setup is: C2 Board, Case, SD card, USB Power cord, HDMI cable. Use any old USB device charger lying around to supply power and Ethernet connect for superior video streaming. Im glad I asked as I really thought a s905 china box was the way to go, but this c2 looks the business. Optical and Coax SPDIF legacy audio is going the way of all things... I'm tempted by a C2, it looks great as well - but comparing it to stuff that costs half the price so it should. Edit: after a bit of browsing I should probably correct that to more like about a quarter of the price by the time I've added the bits I want / use! I don't know what your setup is, but i'm thinking hook up hdmi out from C2 to receiver, optical to tv. or maybe treat the tv as a hdmi input splitter and tv > optical > receiver/soundbar/amp whatever. Would that not work for you? |
