Please test with version 1.1.10, there's was another typo.
If you have issues with 1.1.0 please provide me your full kodi logfile please so I can follow what's going on.
Please note that for Android, the playback is handled by the Android spotify app and not Kodi or the addon.
So, the Kodi addon for Spotify should be able to control any Spotify app/device by using the Connect protocol.
Note that I'm still working on getting the Kodi OSD to show up when a connect device is playing the audio instead of Kodi itself.

Ok, I was using version 1.1.9 I think. I'll check for the newer one then and report back again. I'm not entirely sure about the technical stuff you are taking about. Is there some setting I need to make the control work?

Tried with the 1.1.10 version still getting a error.
When I click on spotify it opens up the settings of the addon, clicking ok just takes me to a empty directory

1) Restart your android box
2) Fill in your credentials in the settings screen that pops up.
3) The browser should be launched with a prompt to connect your spotify account to the addon.
4) The addon should be working now.
Note: make sure that you have the Spotify app installed on your Kodi box.
Built-in playback is NOT supported on Android or iOS.
On those platforms it's all relying completely on the native Spotify apps on the device.

Sorry, I mixed up 2 posts. You should be able to get it working with version 1.1.10.
EDIT: Hmmm, now that I see your log I have another fix.

Good news! I upgraded to version 1.1.11 and rebooted my box to be sure. It all seems to work now! I'm currently playing one of my lists. I'll let it play for a couple of hours to be sure...
However, as you said, there currently is no OSD or now playing interaction. But you are working on that?

Thanks I can confirm it now works on my Raspberry with Libreelec 8.0.2!!
