RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - hdmkv - 2016-05-18 Which is why Intel NUC is my dedicated home theater box , but Q10 Pro does 4K well, and may be more future proof (if there's such a thing) with HDR. RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - UHD TV - 2016-05-18 They need to release the firmware that is currently in beta mode right now, rather than wait for *every possible problem* to be fixed. Agreed. Small updates are better than none. RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - OlivierQC - 2016-05-18 @hdmkv i did not have the time the last night to checked the weird vertical bands on left/right edges of videos with 3d movie, did you cheked ? RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - hdmkv - 2016-05-19 Thanks for checking... forgot to check that, and now I'm on business travel. Can you let HiMedia know via e-mail... you can use the 'Ant-Man' screenshots I have in post #1 or maybe do a video demo so they can clearly see the issue. This is another annoying one, next to microstutters, that really needs to be fixed. Its more about confidence in a product Sometimes its better to drip feed small updates to keep confidence up. Its been a while now since launch of the device and if the first firmware comes along and there are only a couple of small updates then tbh it makes you believe the company only cares about instant profit and putting a ghost team on fixing issues. After listening to the Minor fixes that have been reported in the beta update you have to look at commitment by Himedia. From what I have read the fixes have been so far If I was in a sprint planning meeting with those fixes I would put them each down as a level 1. This would equate to a day or 2 days of a single developer. How long has it been since release? So you have to then think about commitment. If Himedia are not that commited then I have to rethink which hardware I will use going forward. RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - BORIStheBLADE - 2016-05-19 Got an email today form Futeko about preorders and the price of the Q5 Pro is gonna be 119.99 GBP. RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - obwiz - 2016-05-19 Yeah bought one this morning, wife is gonna kill me! ;-) RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - UHD TV - 2016-05-19 Also I would like the option to sign up for beta firmware .... not neccessarily Nightly firmware, but maybe weekly or fortnightly RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - hdmkv - 2016-05-20 HiMedia seems to prefer f/w's more spread out, and tested by a small beta test group, before releasing. I'd also prefer more frequent, smaller updates, but can understand their approach to control releases so it's a couple of steps forward at a time, and less of couple of steps forward with some things broken in the process. RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - OlivierQC - 2016-05-20 Official page of Q5 PRO : http://www.himediatech.com/q5pro.html Video : https://www.facebook.com/Himediatech/videos/274456802898442/ RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - wesk05 - 2016-05-21 So, it looks like Himedia has dropped Dolby Vision from their products? There is no mention of it on either the Q10 Pro or Q5 Pro descriptions. |
