Right, and quality and type of implementation seems to vary. Have a look at this AVSForum user's screenshots with Epson 5040UB and JVC RS400 PJ's. The SDR screenshot looks better than any of the HDR modes (granted, judging PQ solely by screenshots isn't accurate, but at least you can appreciate the differences in rendering).

There is a right faff going on with the new Epsons (9300 / 7300 - UK names) and HDR, people using HDFury's to strip HDR and just get WCG in rec.2020, but then HDR working properly in 8 or 12bit but not 10bit...
Hopefully next year things might smooth out in this area, too many inconsistencies atm.
ps. I see Android 7.0 has had support for all HDR's added.

yes HDR mode is engaged when i watch HDR demo ( all demo 4k HDR works perfectly) on my Sony x93c with my xbox One S or my Q10 pro.

If you test HDR10 or DV on any of the well authored movies (UHD discs for HDR10 vs. Vudu for DV), you definitely see a big difference between HDR vs SDR. I have a LG 65 E6P, which is DV capable and the built-in apps (Netflix, Vudu - DV vs Amazon - HDR10). When I watch HDR content, the difference in the image is night & day.

i made a mistake about One S, demo 4k hdr do not work at all (no picture no sound) as you only UHD Blu-ray Disc works.
with Q10 pro my tv switch HDR mode with all demo HDR (for information the box is connected directly to the TV)

Thanks @OlivierQC i tested the video from the link i posted above and Yes HDR does activate with Himedia Q10Pro on my TV.

Last night I was testing 10bit HDR demos again and comparing the Q10 pro against my Samsung js8500 native player.
For me this was the best demo to test against.
Samsung UHD : Ride on Board
I must say that visually I couldn't tell the difference between the 2 renders.
