You still need a powerful enough SoC ie Chip /computer system, otherwise every HDMI device on the market would be capable of being upgraded to DolbyVision capabilities.

That is clearly not going to happen.

Amending my previous statement slightly:
Quote:Both the media Player and display have to have actual DolbyVision capable hardware chips in them.

I actually went for a bit of a hunt to find out why the Q10 Pro had DolbyVision support dropped but came up empty handed in the thread:

New tool for Debug or read information of system:
http://www.android-mediaplayer.de/index.php/Thread/3845-Himedia-Debug-Info-system/

NOTE:
- it's not a PATCH
- not fix any issues or problem
- it's not official himedia tool

it is a tool only for debug or check information of system like: video or sound info, HDMI output, EDID link ecc.

with output at up to Ultra-HD 4K 60fps. 23.976 and 29.970 auto frame rate switching (match fps to HDMI output Hz) gives smooth playback of all video formats.
When there are now clearly demonstrated 3D video playback problems.

I will try as clear as possible about 3D issues and my personal point of view, probably wrong or right.

3D issues is not a Full issues, it's a Half issues or maybe less.

why?
- there isn't a periodic stutter every 41 second , typical 24hz output issues
- during my test/playback i do NOT see lot of microstutters
- microstutters are mostly visible when watching end rolling credits and usually I notice at least 2-3.

Maybe is not 3D playback perfect smooth at 100%,but for lot of user is enough for good playback.

Obvious himedia/hisilicon must fix it and we waiting ,but is not a disasters.

Usually i do a simple test (maybe wrong or can be do better ), watch always the same 3D scene, for sample:
Transformers Age of Extinction: fixed camera with slow moving landscape. at 41 second there are starship moving(slow) , so is easy see stutter or jump frame: NO issue

LICHTMOND 3 3D
clock-starship very uselful to see microstutters: 3 microstutters in 5 minute

Tomorrow the firmware is only for beta tester. AFAIK, this beta firmware is Nougat 7, maybe next week it will be released.

kodi 16.1 with wrapper failed with TV vu+ client streaming (here vu+ Duo2)

the zap fails ... (first channel works)
there is no wait for zap the wrapper exits immediately

without wrapper works but its slow and looks async

RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio) - looun - 2016-11-03

wrapper not support internet streaming.
You must add this to playercorefactory.xml

or install addon HI - Frequency Switcher
