As of RC3, it should work, I think.
Anyway, IEC is there for sure, maybe not all Kodi flavours/version are able to use it, yet.

It is not true. It works perfect with Kodi 17 RC and with the Himedia Media Player. In Kodi you have to go to hardware settings -> sound, and mark YES for HD Audio pass-through, yes for Dolby HD 7.1 capable external decoder and DTS HD 7.1 capable external decoder, leave the audio output to 2.o channels and mark "NO" in internal AC3 decoding.
Even the ultimate DTS:X 7.1 and Dolby Atmos 7.1 movies play well with 7.1 sound in my AV receiver through HDMI.

I tried again... Himedia player is perfect, but kodi's videoplayer no sound at all... I don't know what I missed, I did everything you mentioned

Also 7.1 is only possible through HDMI (1.4 or 2.0 ), if you use the Optical SPDF audio then it is only capable of 5.1
Also in KODI sound settings check channel 2.0 and DO NOT CHECK AC-3 decoding !!!

Q10 pro( f/w 2.0.1 ) with kodi 17 rc3 when playback DTS-HD MA track :
- passthrough not work
- there is no sound,

My android settings were set to auto, I put hdmi output raw, spdif close or raw, hbr 5.1 or 7.1, same result. I got hdmi working with pioneer lx58, pass through working well with wrapper. Kodi 17rc audio channels 2.0, pass through enable and everything except ac3 transcoding.... Gui sound OK, music, 2.0 videos working well 😕
It is not about HD audio, just 'simple' ac3 or dts tracks no sound and pcm 2.0 shown in receiver

I don't understand, in kodi I play video with videoplayer and not wrapper, this is what I'm looking for. I did not touch wrapper configuration

It really woirks well, so it's either your settings that has something wrong or a hardware problem (Q10pro, or the AV receiver or the HDMI cable)

Please share you Kodi 17 version and settings witch can passthrough with videoplayer on Android 7.0 at least one of audio formats DD,DD+,DTS.
avril.stephane is was very clear post "in kodi I play video with videoplayer and not wrapper."

I tried with another av receiver yamaha, I changed hdmi cable, I did a factory reset, just did the audio settings q10 and kodi...
Android 7 last firmware and kodi 17rc
Still no surround pass-through with kodi videoplayer. Wrapper is ok

biggest problem with latest update is when wrapper is set to himedia player....the local files playback invokes himedia player from Kodi 17 RC3...but when any video addons like ----- is played opening any video it doesnt opens any player at all....
I have to go back to Kodi 16.1 in which there is no such problems

1. MY KODI version is 17 RC3, which is the version that Q10pro updates to after installing Android 7 (either firmware 2.0 or 2.0.1 it doesn't matter).
2. Wrapper is set to HiMedia Player not KODI !
3. Go to System Settings in KODI and select expert mode (in the lower left corner of system settings, by default you will see basic mode, click twice : first for ADVANCE mode, second for EXPERT mode) , in that way you will be able to see all the AUDIO features needed to change.
4. Go to AUDIO settings, then change the following:
a) Change to ON :
- Audio Passtrough
- AC3 capable receiver
-DOLBY TRUE-HD capable receiver
-DTS-HD capable receiver
b) CHANGE (or KEEP) to "OFF" :
- AC3 decoding
Remember if you have 5.1 or 7.1 DOLBY and DTS AV Home Cinema then you should send the audio signal RAW , meaning the AV RECEIVER has to do the decoding, not KODI !
5. Also in Q10 Pro Android Settings, go to audio and change the 3 options to RAW; RAW and RAW 7.1 (if you have a 7.1 receiver, otherwise just RAW)
6. Do not forget that if you are using and HDMI 1.3 or higher (preferable HDMI 1.4 or better a 2.0a cable) you will be able to get 7.1 channel output, otherwise if you are using digital SPDF out audio cable, then you will only get 5.1 (Dolgy Digital and DTS) output but NOT DOLBY TRUE-HD OR DTS-HD 7.1 OUTPUT.
These settings works for me. I am using an HDMi 2.0a cable and a Pioneer 7.1 Home cinema AV receiver.
