I'd like to end the testing and push it out to the repo.

I use a 5.3.7 version picked about one month ago.... working flawesly whitout any problems. I have installed about 12 December 2016...... i don't know if it's latest 5.3.7 test build Smile

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Kodee Newbee - 2017-01-11

Could someone kindly post a link to the latest working Youtube addon for Windows. I have been having issues with quota exceeded now for about a week.

Thanks in advance for the help.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - _Andy_ - 2017-01-11

This is not an issue with the version. You need to make your own personal youtube key to get the quota limit disappear. Instruction in the first post.

Thanks _Andy_

FYI, before submitting this in PR #9, I already tested on Kodi-17/SPMC-16.5 (android), Kodi (Linux), and Kodi (Win7).

For others testing, if you can get 1080 video then the addon/DASH is working for you. Additionally, with SPMC, bringing up the Codec Info page (pressing "o") while playing video will show "MPD" for the demuxers (MPD == DASH). So far it's working for everyone I've seen try it, here and on SPMC threads.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - raptorz - 2017-01-11

I'm running Kodi Krypton on the Fire TV 2. I'm trying to play a 4k video from YouTube (like this one), and the video is extremely choppy.

Playing that same video on the YouTube app of the Fire TV, I get smooth playback.
Where can that be coming from?

I was told inputstream.mpd was being removed.

Could someone confirm, if downloading videos with Youtubedl-plugin is working, with the testing version posted at previous page? That's the only problem, I've had. All videos are playing fine, so it's not that and it might not even be YouTube-addon related, but I would like this to be confirmed, so maybe I can post bug report to youtubedl-plugin, or wherever it belongs. It seems, that youtubedl can't see the streams of what youtube plugin is playing anymore, and gives 'streams not available' message. It downloads from all other sites, just like before. I like to download all interesting videos, so I would like to have some input on this.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - DarkHelmet - 2017-01-12

Is there a way to turn the cam in the addon?

It's very interesting but i thinks currently it's not possibly to turn camera.......... i don't have idea if this it's developed but i thinks it's not the most important feature to add at this moment...

To be honest i doubt ffmpeg even supports that itself. It's not something the plugin would process, it would have to be done through the videoplayer.

How about adding Youtube TV pairing, so one can use the Youtube app on an Android and cast videos from there to the Kodi? Smile

Why would you need that ?
You can already stream any video your phone to kodi.
It is not limited to just youtube.

Because it's way more convenient than using Kore or whatever? Just press that cast button inside the Youtube app and press play on any video on the phone and it plays on Kodi instead. Or do you have anything better than that? Smile

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Spinner65 - 2017-01-15

Enable DLNA in Kodi and you can stream media. Not just youtube. No need for "app for this app for that"

When my phone or tablet is connected to the local network, all i have to do it click "share" and send it to kodi.
2 clicks and it is playing on Kodi

Some android phones like my HTC have custom software to allow setting a media output device. Once that is done, when you play video or music it automatically gets sent to the DLNA device you configured, instead of the local display.
Personally I prefer to use Yatse, over my phone's built-in DLNA media output function, since it is much more flexible.

Not to mention... that the Youtube App on Smart TVs is developed by paid employees, by commercial companies, which deal with Google as a business partner.
Completely different than an Open Source free media player, make by volunteers, that uses an add-on, which was created by another volunteer who no longer develops it, and is now being maintained so it will keep working, by another volunteer.
