Hi Jeff! Thanks also on my side! Can you please update the link to the unofficial (even if it is in an alpha stage) in the first post?

Yes as soon as I update it. Unfortunately since we found that bug i have to change the version to 5.3.12 so that the update takes effect to the repository.

Jeff

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - jdf76 - 2017-03-09

Released 5.3.12. This will be the final release for the 5.3.x version unless a little bug pops up. Will be updating kodi repo after i'm sure we don't find any issues on the release. This should fix the "UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\u2019' in position 413: ordinal not in range(128)" issue.

Latest version of the Youtube plugin is version: 5.3.12
Unofficial (views version)

Thanks

Cool. Thought about sudo after I posted, hoped you'd figure that out if it was needed.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - aragorn - 2017-03-11

As per my other (unresolved) thread i recently upgraded from v16 to v17 and from ubuntu 14 to 16.04. Not sure if its related or just coincidence.

After the upgrade youtube was working fine.

However this morning its not working at all. Sometimes its popping up an error, other times its completely crashing kodi.

I've created a debug log here:

http://paste.ubuntu.com/24156913/

In that log i tried to select a few menu options from within the youtube plugin (new search, settings and i think sign in) all producing the same error. I then tried to play a youtube video by sending it to kodi from my laptop. Sometimes playing a video will generate the error, but most of the time Kodi simply crashes.

Any ideas whats going on?! The log seems to contain errors talking about OpenSSL?

I just noticed that my custom history and watch later playlists are not working anymore.
Tried this for the first time since upgrading to Krypton. I know it worked with Jarvis before
I always get the following in my Kodi log:
