Thank you very much Jeff,

Here the link to the log, hope it's enough (I activated debugging but I don't know if I did everything properly).

Jeff

No you don't need to install the repo to grab the latest version. You can download the zip file from the front page. We are working to get it put in the kodi repo.

Thanks
Jeff

Thanks for clearing that up, the update from 5.1.17 worked just fine! Now if you successfully manage to get this version into the official repository, will users need to manually adapt their installation?

There is a new API Key so it will probably require you to authenticate. You may want to disable auto-update if you prefer not to update.

I don't see anything. Unfortunately it's not in debug (wiki) mode. do this for me settings | system | debug enable debug logging.

then repaste to pastebin.com

Thanks
Jeff

Thank you!

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - jdf76 - 2016-05-17

try this

Exit Kodi
go to

Code:
C:\Users\Jon\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\addon_data\plugin.video.youtube

delete this folder

when you start kodi and then the plugin you should see a login. If you don't let me know.

Thank you,
Jeff

could someone direct me to a way to install the newest (stable) youtube plugin on an apple tv which does not have a USB port and therefore i cant just manually download the zip and transfer it?

frusterated tonight getting quota exceeded issues on bromixes addon, when it was working fine last night.

i was in the middle of watching a series on it and am quite peeved at how often things like this break in general. wish it would just work and continue to work, after all youtube.com is still the same. gets very frusterating...

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - twilight0 - 2016-05-19

@pawprints1986: I have just sent a pm to you.

Kodi is like a web browser, with heavy filtration... it scrapes web sites and gives users the streaming content directly with no obstructions like advertisements and other various distractions. Web sites and users however lose this revenue for not displaying ads and that's why administrators constantly change web site code for new features and sometimes, purposely, break Kodi addons. The addons initially work as intended and its because of the sheer voluntary dedication of various developers, but keep in mind that due to these changes developers also have to maintain the code and follow them and that means additional effort and time. Youtube for example may seem the same for the end user, but underlying changes are constantly evolving.

It reoccurs again if I update the library in order to fetch new videos from my subscriptions.

Here's the summary:
1. I delete everything related to youtube addon.
2. I reinstall the addon and set it up.
3. I start the addon, it loads correctly and I do the setup wizard and do the 2x sign in via web browser.
4. The addon refreshes my subscription videos and everything correctly.
5. I got a notification on my phone that a new video was uploaded - I go to my computer with Kodi, then into the youtube addon and select "Update Library" (this has always worked before) - addon butts out of My Subscriptions folder and when I go back into it all I see is "..". Cannot get back into My Subscriptions without reinstalling addon.
6. Repeat from point 1.

Ok lets start by getting a debug (wiki) log and go from there.

Jeff

So after a busy week I finally got around to making a debug log.
What I did was launch Kodi, (failed to...) enter the Youtube addon into "My Subscriptions" via a shortcut on the main menu and then exit Kodi.
The log is here: http://pastebin.com/tsWMZdYX

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Not been able to remove things from the watch later list looks like an issue with google's api rather than this add-on so we will likely just have to wait for google to fix it before it starts working again.
