RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - LS-TV - 2016-07-30

We can't play Youtube links from playlists on Windows or Android either, not just Linux. These links do not require sign in either. Is this relating to the same problem you are experiencing?

Yes, at least on Linux/Ubuntu 15.10 this is true (links even not requiring sign in won't play)
Basically, no videos that call YouTube working either signed in or otherwise working over here.

So... as was seen earlier, this seems like a problem related to this type of OS.

I'm sorry but I find it to be very poor when users quickly state (incorrect) things like "at this point the app seems completely broken" when clearly it is not, and clearly it is an isolated problem.

Are you sure something hasn't changed on the OS side? We saw previously that OS updates caused breakage.

From the other side, it is summer holiday period here in europe so please be patient, I'm sure the relevant developers will check this in due course.

It works perfectly fine for me so it must be on their side Wink

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - xDetoursx - 2016-07-30

Followed instructions on the 3rd post and everything is working great. Windows 8.1. Latest stable Jarvis release.

One thing with the instructions though. There should be a step 6 added. After completing step 5 I had to go back in to the API dashboard, select the one I created then click on the "Enable " button on top of the Web page. Do know if this is a new tweak, but the add on won't work unless you do this first

@Martijn - can you please confirm what OS you tested with? Windows and iOS are working fine for me, and it seems that the problems are related to linux/elec based OS.

I would like to confirm and check this. What "one" did you need to subsequently enable? Thanks.

Repped. Thanx.

Not sure why the image isn't showing, but it was the project i had to create in Step 1

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - jmh2002 - 2016-07-30

Ok thanks Smile

Per your screenshot, that doesnt seem to be the project, but seems to be the YouTube Data API (which yes, needs to be enabled).

Is it possible that you missed or something went wrong during step 2 ?

jmh2002 Wrote:Step 2:
Go to YouTube APIs > Select YouTube Data API > Enable

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - xDetoursx - 2016-07-30

Actually now that you mention it, I think I was instructed to do an additional step in Step 4. Can't remember all the details as it was late and I was tired last night.

Select Create Credentials > OAuth Client ID > Other > Create

After selecting Other, I was not allowed to select Create until I did something else. It took me to a screen that asked me to name something....can't remember what it was exactly. There were other optional fields to fill in too that i just left blank. Anyway after I did that, then I was able to Create, and everything worked. (After I went back in and Enabled it)

Hope this helps.

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - jmh2002 - 2016-07-30

Ah ok. Possibly something got missed or was not done in the correct order (which is quite important).

In any case I will monitor it in case anyone else reports a similar issue. For now, enjoy Wink

NONE of our users have been able to load Youtube live streams via IPTV Simple Client for weeks, not one. We have tested multiple OSes on varied hardware from multiple broadband connections.

We first sought help almost 3 weeks ago (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=282133) and the problem existed weeks before even that. We thought we'd better chase up what's happening.

Feel free to test it yourself from one of our live playlists: http://lvstr.org/kodi
NOTE: The Youtube links start with "UNAVAILABLE" in red, such as number 44.

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - LS-TV - 2016-07-30

Has the format of calling the Youtube plugin been changed? We have tried:
plugin://plugin.video.youtube/play/?video_id=-r-oxWIVuaI
plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=-r-oxWIVuaI
plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?path=/root/video&action=play_video&videoid=-r-oxWIVuaI

All the above fail. Surely someone must know why...

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - robo989 - 2016-07-30

Hi there. Wasn't complaining just an fyi really Wink

Getting exact same behaviour when it last broke prior to the sign in issue where 2 instances of code wasn't working.

Appears this is only Linux related.

Haven't applies any updates to system, prior/post add-on not working and have all auto updates disabled both OS/Kodi/Add-on

Will try playing a bit more if others seem to have no problems but seems classic case.

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - jmh2002 - 2016-07-30

Understood, I appreciated you qualifying the situation, thank you Smile and I am waiting for @Martijn to confirm too.

I'm not a coder so I cant make fixes directly, but it is also important to understand the situation correctly.

Something is definitely odd there in relation to those alternative OS. There seems to be reoccurring problems.
