RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - joeswede - 2016-07-30

Windows 10, Kodi nightly.

I hope this will help.

I got YouTube working again by uninstalling youtube then going to Users/Huh?/AppData/Roaming/Kodi/userdata/addon_data/ and delete "plugin.video.youtube"

Reinstall 5.2.2

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - jmh2002 - 2016-07-30

So, nothing new there, it is a standard fix that has been repeated in this thread many times.

Also if you are using an alpha nightly release of Kodi how can you then say the YouTube addon is broken?

I see that you are a new user here, do you have a valid reason for using a nightly?

* A note for everyone:

If you use experimental or alternative operating systems, and/or alpha, beta, or non current release versions of Kodi, then possibly this will cause issues. Surely this is common sense...

Please use stable and current versions of standard OS to minimise any possible problems Smile

Hello,

actually I would welcome update on first thread about API work/broke for the Kodi versions. I am still on 16.1 and 17 isnt option for me, until Youtube plugin will be functional, and I think there are lot of people which are interest in that.

Is there a fix for auto delete from the watch later playlist?
I also cannot manually remove from the playlist either.

Well last i heard when h0d3nt3uf3l has time to work on it he does. He's also working on the DASH support addition, so they come together hand in hand.

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - AuXBoX - 2016-08-03

I've noticed that when browsing channels and then going into one the list starts about one page down and not on the first page where the first video is.

If that makes sense.

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - MindTooth - 2016-08-03

Hi,

Gotta ask, is there a way to refresh the recommended list? Installed the plugin like yesterday, and it's the same stuff today.

When viewing YT on my Mac, new content appear.

Any help appreciated! Also, much love for the plugin :-)

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - robo989 - 2016-08-03

Just an update here from when the addon mysteriously stopped working a few days ago on Kodi 17 Alpha 3/Ubuntu 15.10 (known working previously many times)
Can't fathom what happened but did a completely fresh install using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Server iso (it's LTS so thought a worthwhile time swapping)...

Viola...

All working again with 5.2.2 version of the addon.

Extremely strange this all suddenly stopped working with no joy getting it to work downgrading Kodi/deleting all traces of addon/re-installing...
Maybe some corruption somehwere in the OS...who knows.

Just wanted to update as I was so adamant it "wasn't my setup that was to blame"/etc....we never learn :p

(2016-07-30, 19:54)robo989 Wrote: Hi there. Wasn't complaining just an fyi really Wink

Getting exact same behaviour when it last broke prior to the sign in issue where 2 instances of code wasn't working.

Appears this is only Linux related.

Haven't applies any updates to system, prior/post add-on not working and have all auto updates disabled both OS/Kodi/Add-on

Will try playing a bit more if others seem to have no problems but seems classic case.

(2016-07-30, 17:29)jmh2002 Wrote: So... as was seen earlier, this seems like a problem related to this type of OS.

I'm sorry but I find it to be very poor when users quickly state (incorrect) things like "at this point the app seems completely broken" when clearly it is not, and clearly it is an isolated problem.

Are you sure something hasn't changed on the OS side? We saw previously that OS updates caused breakage.

From the other side, it is summer holiday period here in europe so please be patient, I'm sure the relevant developers will check this in due course.

Thanks for the update Smile

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - VanillaXtract - 2016-08-05

I have started getting an error. When I open the plugin, I get the first code. I enter it on my phone then the plugin errors. I then installed the kodi log addon. It errors too. It seems the issue is related to python and not the addon directly. Does anyone have any ideas?

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - jdf76 - 2016-08-06

Just an FYI, I was able to download and install Kodi Krypton Alpha-3 then install the youtube plug-in from the repo and the sign in with out any issues. I even had 1 window open, so i didn't do it very quickly. Hope that helps you

Using

OSX El-Capitan (10.11.6)
Kodi 17 alpha3
Youtube Plug-in 5.2.1

Jeff

RE: Official YouTube Plug-in Thread - jdf76 - 2016-08-06

Can i get some volunteer's to install alpha3 and doing the sign in routiene.

I need * linux, Windows and android.

Youtube 5.2.x

I'd like Upgrade and/or New. If I can get all positive responses then i can update the front page saying only use Version alpha 3.

Let me know what you find out.
