RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - Tarkus_ - 2016-04-07

Not sure if this is a known issue, but I just discovered that editing folders doesn't work for me. I tried disabling a couple of them (My Channel and Disliked) and they still show up in the menu.

did you look in the kodi.log?
I've tested it dump with
API-ID: .apps.googleusercontent.com
My Kodi.log said
Quote:00:56:58 T:3692 ERROR: [plugin.video.youtube] Unknown kind ''

In the code the string ".apps.googleusercontent.com" would be erased and then attached to the API which is gotten from the Pool.

The code didn't erase that string from the keys. Something is wrong with the code. Did you check it on your system?

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - panon - 2016-04-07

This is working for me, but not you? Weird.

For testing I added .apps.googleusercontent.com to the end of api id code in settings gui.

Now I have API ID as 947596709414-08nrn314d8j3k91cl4f51srcu6m19hvu.apps.googleusercontent.com

I found the ignore code in login_client.py. So I put a print to see api_id. Hmm, looking at the code .replace('.apps.googleusercontent.com', '') is looking logical to replace .apps.googleusercontent.com with empty string or ''.

api_key = addon.getSetting('youtube.api.key')
api_id = addon.getSetting('youtube.api.id').replace('.apps.googleusercontent.com', '')
api_secret = addon.getSetting('youtube.api.secret')
print 'api_id is: ' + api_id

Youtube is working and kodi log is showing:

19:18:11 T:4508356608 NOTICE: [plugin.video.youtube] Running: YouTube (5.1.20.5) on Isengard (15.2) with Python 2.6.5
19:18:11 T:4700061696 NOTICE: Thread LanguageInvoker start, auto delete: false
19:18:11 T:4700061696 NOTICE: -->Python Interpreter Initialized<--

So according to kodi log .apps.googleusercontent.com is being removed from 947596709414-08nrn314d8j3k91cl4f51srcu6m19hvu.apps.googleusercontent.com and youtube is working no problem.

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - *Spider* - 2016-04-07

My version is 16.0 and I tested it twice on separate days.
My RPI2 has 15.2 so will check it.

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - ccgr1015 - 2016-04-07

Hi I am new to Kodi and just finished building a Raspberry Pi 2 powered NAS running Samba, and automatic downloader using NZBget, Sonnar, CouchPoatao, and a IMDB watchlist along with a MySQL database to sync all of my media content to all of my Kodi devices including 2 computers and 2 Raspberry Pi's. I have reached the final step and can't quite seem to figure this last part out. My YouTube app will not work despite my best efforts.

Kodi log is showing as follows:

http://xbmclogs.com/ptmp9q3fk

I am also using the latest release from these forums. My kodi version is 15.2 released in December 2015.

ok go to the file manager under system. select profile directory

Then select addon_data

then highlight plugin.video.youtube

hit c for the context menu and select delete.

Once it's removed go out of the file manager.

go to settings and then add-ons.

Then select my addons

go to the video add-ons menu

select youtube and hit the context menu again.

click add-on information.

click uninstall.

once this is done, it should be gone, but if you absolutely want to be sure. exit out of kodi and then hunt down your kodi directory and then go to addons and if you see a plugin.video.youtube delete that folder.

now go to https://github.com/Kolifanes/plugin.video.youtube/releases/download/5.1.20.5/plugin.video.youtube-5.1.20.5.zip on your browser and download this version.

put it in a folder you can remember.

Once done, start kodi back up and then go to the setting menu again go to add-ons and select install from zip file.

go to that folder that you downloaded the zip file and select it on you should be good to go. It will do the whole set up routine and you should be set.

Thanks
Jeff

That didn't do it but I did find out why it was happening. The Kodi repository was overiding it so I had to disable it. Thanks for the help anyhow!

By the way is your search feature request like the one they use on http://www.youtube.com/tv/?

I hope you can understand where I am coming.

Hi,

First of all, thank you very much for creating a new forum page so that it is more clear and easy to read rather than having 3 different versions running around.

I tried to play one video (old indian movie) on youtube and the link it is getting is

rtmpe://r6---sn-ntq7yn76.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?sparams=id,itag,lmt,mm,mn,ms,mv,nh,pl,rtmpe,source,expire&id=o-AOe4H_eA0L7cNKAF1HyM2rYTSLHHC38oMNH8heTYwDNJ&mt=1459994245&pl=23&source=youtube&rtmpe=yes&signature=31BB1CECADE09B6F3DCE8DBFA7F41B89D69F906A.3BA846C539FD89437E4E9287F59E2337B5659BEE&ms=nxu&mm=30&mn=sn-ntq7yn76&expire=1459994589&lmt=1458263960755115&sver=3&nh=IgpwcjAxLnN5ZDEwKgkxMjcuMC4wLjE&fexp=9407015,9416126,9416891,9420096,9420452,9421341,9422596,9423662,9425077,9426926,9427773,9427902,9428398,9431850,9432048,9432194,9432388,9432603,9433809&key=yt6&mv=m&itag=22

However it doesn't play. I tried to change rtmpe to https and youtube.com to googlevideo.com and it plays in the browser but not in Kodi.

Any help would be appreciate as Youtube has lot of old Indian movies and would love to play them in the addon.

For testing purpose you can search "andaz apna apna". The movie link in Youtube is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M_jHUawccI

Keep up the good work.

Now back to the 16.0 again...

Hello,

can you send a debug (wiki) of the output?

Thank you,

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - jdf76 - 2016-04-07

Well thats interesting the version number should stop it from auto-upgrading. 5.1.20.5 in higher than 5.1.17.

I'll take a look and see if i can determine it. can you tell me this

OS Type and Version, Kodi Version, Skin.

Thanks
Jeff

Works on RPI2 with 15.2 with the same keys that didn't work on 16.0
Now back to the 16.0 again...

Ok, IDK, still working for me on kodi 16 and 17. I use same condition as before, just add .apps.googleusercontent.com to the end of the api id in settings gui.
Because event logger is different in kodi 16 and 17, I cut some of the stuff out between youtube / kodi type and api id so you only see infos below.

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - bitbanger - 2016-04-07

May I suggest to add on the opening post of the thread, where the download link is, a mention that the plugin is still "temporarily" hosted on the kolifane github and perhaps a brief mention that it is not yet an official Kodi plugin so there is no automatic updates yet (i.e. look at the first post with the eyes of a first comer, and what s/he might want to know about the plugin) ?
