My RPI2 has 15.2 so will check it.

Works on RPI2 with 15.2 with the same keys that didn't work on 16.0
Now back to the 16.0 again...

Ok, IDK, still working for me on kodi 16 and 17. I use same condition as before, just add .apps.googleusercontent.com to the end of the api id in settings gui.
Because event logger is different in kodi 16 and 17, I cut some of the stuff out between youtube / kodi type and api id so you only see infos below.

22:29:23 T:4738064384 NOTICE: [plugin.video.youtube] Running: YouTube (5.1.20.5) on Jarvis (16.1) with Python 2.6.5

It works on 16.0 now. What made it work was to Sign out and Sign in again for another double verification after inputting my keys. Basically 2 sets of double verifications.
Is that what you had to do?

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - ccgr1015 - 2016-04-07

I seem to have a strange new twist to my initial problem of the YouTube add-on not running on my kodi build. I mentioned I have 4 different builds of Kodi 2 running on computers (a mac and a windows laptop) and 2 on raspberry pi 2's. So it seems that one of the raspberry pi's is running the add-on without any issues as far as simply watching videos. The version that is working is 5.1.17. I'm going to go ahead and try to update to the 5.1.20.6 version listed here to see if I can get it to work on this pi.

I found the required field and filled in. Now Kodi is sorting correctly by date, but my list look like this.
2016-04-05 (12:00:00)
2016-03-31 (15:04:00)
2016-03-31 (18:00:00)

The time in the brakets are not visible, but I know its sorted false because you see the correct sorting out of /feed/subscriptions.
Also the turn back to standart view does not help, the sorting doesn't change to the last (sorting date in my case).

Not its 0:41 am at my location, I'm not able to think anymore. Lets have a look tomorrow if I found the last little issues.
So... it was sorting by time of day first, not date? Good catch!

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - h0d3nt3uf3l - 2016-04-07

Its sorting the date descending and the time ascending. World be no Problem but the default from youtube is both descending. So you see a difference in the sorting and I dont like such things. What do you think about it?

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - h0d3nt3uf3l - 2016-04-07

Hi Tarkus,

I'm sorry but I can't confirm this.
Which version do you use and on which system? I've tested it with Kodi on Windows XP and the Plugin version 5.1.20.6.
Maybe the program did not have permission to write in the settings.xml. Can you change other settings? Are the folders marked as disabled? (grey button)

Ahh-- well that is certainly a huge improvement! But I agree that it's still wrong.

Hi Jchirag,

I think this is a issue from youtube itself. If you try to watch the video with the youtube.com/tv you got an error as well.
Code:
https://www.youtube.com/tv#/watch/loading?v=7M_jHUawccI&resume

(2016-04-07, 04:06)jchirag Wrote: Hi,

First of all, thank you very much for creating a new forum page so that it is more clear and easy to read rather than having 3 different versions running around.

I tried to play one video (old indian movie) on youtube and the link it is getting is

rtmpe://r6---sn-ntq7yn76.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?sparams=id,itag,lmt,mm,mn,ms,mv,nh,pl,rtmpe,source,expire&id=o-AOe4H_eA0L7cNKAF1HyM2rYTSLHHC38oMNH8heTYwDNJ&mt=1459994245&pl=23&source=youtube&rtmpe=yes&signature=31BB1CECADE09B6F3DCE8DBFA7F41B89D69F906A.3BA846C539FD89437E4E9287F59E2337B5659BEE&ms=nxu&mm=30&mn=sn-ntq7yn76&expire=1459994589&lmt=1458263960755115&sver=3&nh=IgpwcjAxLnN5ZDEwKgkxMjcuMC4wLjE&fexp=9407015,9416126,9416891,9420096,9420452,9421341,9422596,9423662,9425077,9426926,9427773,9427902,9428398,9431850,9432048,9432194,9432388,9432603,9433809&key=yt6&mv=m&itag=22

However it doesn't play. I tried to change rtmpe to https and youtube.com to googlevideo.com and it plays in the browser but not in Kodi.

Any help would be appreciate as Youtube has lot of old Indian movies and would love to play them in the addon.

For testing purpose you can search "andaz apna apna". The movie link in Youtube is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M_jHUawccI

Keep up the good work.

ok go to the file manager under system. select profile directory

Then select addon_data

then highlight plugin.video.youtube

hit c for the context menu and select delete.

Once it's removed go out of the file manager.

go to settings and then add-ons.

Then select my addons

go to the video add-ons menu

select youtube and hit the context menu again.

click add-on information.

click uninstall.

once this is done, it should be gone, but if you absolutely want to be sure. exit out of kodi and then hunt down your kodi directory and then go to addons and if you see a plugin.video.youtube delete that folder.

now go to https://github.com/Kolifanes/plugin.video.youtube/releases/download/5.1.20.5/plugin.video.youtube-5.1.20.5.zip on your browser and download this version.

put it in a folder you can remember.

Once done, start kodi back up and then go to the setting menu again go to add-ons and select install from zip file.

go to that folder that you downloaded the zip file and select it on you should be good to go. It will do the whole set up routine and you should be set.

Thanks
Jeff

That didn't do it but I did find out why it was happening. The Kodi repository was overiding it so I had to disable it. Thanks for the help anyhow!

Disable Auto Add-on updates for the youtube add-on:

BTW disable auto-update you need kodi 16.0.

Here I see no Favorites with 5.1.20.6. 5.1.17 is working

@rodalpho
Finaly I found the missing part I think.
If I add the sorting order by "Date Added" it works perfectly (whats btw is the better description Wink).
I have a look for e.g. the playlists is there is an option to sort by ID and fix the issue that the "standart view" will be restorable.

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - rodalpho - 2016-04-07

Cool! This has been broken for a really long time-- Bromix was unable to fix it!

You have resolved the "Sort" for search result or the Sort inside a channel ?? Yeah... it's be add on next release or it's already present here -> https://github.com/Kolifanes/plugin.video.youtube/archive/5.1.20.7.zip ?

*EDIT*
Otherwise i have watched inside my OSMC on my Rpi2 and i have some double folder........... like:
"plugin.video.youtube" and "plugin.video.youtube-master" on "/home/osmc/.kodi/addons"

It's normal ?

Also this 5.1.20.7 have another different folder inside zip -> plugin.video.youtube-5.1.20.7............. no more double folder but triple folder ?

RE: YouTube Plug-in **New Thread*** - h0d3nt3uf3l - 2016-04-07

Sadly I'm not able to update the repo yet.
I'll talk to jdf76 that he will do it if I'm finished with the playlist-sorting.
Hopefully I don't said too much and find an huge issue in the next steps Big Grin

Thats why the folder inside the zip-file (or the zip-file itself) is named like this. Bromix did have everytime use the same name and he knows what he does Smile
I think/hope it doesn't have any effects.

Lol.. and it's normal i have double folder or i have two different version installed at same time ?

*EDIT*
Otherwise yes.......... i have installed/upgrade by using plugin.video.youtube-5.1.20.7.zip and now i have 3 different folder:
- plugin.video.youtube-5.1.20.7
- plugin.video.youtube
and finally:
- plugin.video.youtube-master

I have a lot of confusion........ because 3 different version ?? How i can remove the "useless" and maintain only the latest that be used by OSMC ?
