Edit: A working one and a non working one, please. I just tried to get it running on my systems and with no version I get our PT parser involved (with or without the patch you assumed) - so I really wonder how that worked before.

Whatever is in there it's certainly not standard. I get the same noise with mpv/vlc/mplayer and totem - I heavily doubt it ever worked.

FYI It plays fine with Foobar with the dts component installed and indicates a 6-ch file format.

B.

It's nothing valid, broken by design. If it plays pure luck. Decode it to wav and it will work more widely. The guys at ffmpeg were not that amused about such files. In fact no support.

@milhouse: reverting this revert pr will introduce chipmunk issues.

But as discussed on Slack, can't we avoid the swr_set_compensation for music? Otherwise bit-perfect output from Kodi will not be possible.

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0) - fritsch - 2016-09-12

We won't make AE "input aware" for sure not. It shall not matter if we play movies or music. AE has no idea of what it is playing. But - we shall not use sws_set_compensation whenever we play audio only, there is no reason to do so and this needs to be solved.

Btw. these files have additional issues, if you use "Optimized" Setting and play a playlist - then those will even be resampled - so whatever we fix - there will remain usability issues.

Edit: Please open a trac ticket.

I did test that too and it didn't work either - do you need a debug log from that case?

No it doesn't appear to be logging anything useful, I had sort of hoped there might be a database error but that's not visible. I'll have a play later but so far I'm not able to reproduce.
Can you tell me where to find the subtitle settings inside the Kodi file or database structure? I'd like to take a look at what happens - I just tested a fresh Kodi as you suggested but no luck, the issue remains. As JinJin also seemed to have the same issue without using the library, it's probably not related to the databases at all.

It's likely the subtitle settings are stored against the file path in the database, which is why it works for library and non-library items.

Anyone keen to test with the 4.8-rc6 kernel can try build #0912c: Generic.

In addition to the new kernel this build is based on gcc6.2 so may not be compatible with a number of addons. It also uses latest lirc 0.9.5 (master), although IR seems to be working on my NUC.

If the new kernel fixes anything (resume?) or breaks anything (Intel) then please post.

Regular builds will continue with 4.7.3 for the time being.

Lol :-)

gcc 6.2 and rc kernel :-) is it "Shoot in the foot - day"?

Thank you. Zotac boxes are starting again with IR remote. RoflNodBig Grin

Thx for kernel4.8 implementaition. The ir-rc, especially Power_on from standby, works now on my Zbox ci321 with intel-haswell and nuvoton-cir flawlessly.

Other things I have not tested yet.

Heh. I've been building (privately) with gcc-6.2 for a while, seems OK but something for LE9. First time I've built the 4.8-rcX kernel though so who knows what is broken - it booted into Kodi though, and IR is working... Smile

It's really just something for those with issues to have a play with.

Great. Not sure when I'll switch to the 4.8 kernel for the regular builds, I may miss out the release candidates (there's only likely to be one or two more) and dive in once 4.8.0 is released in 2-3 weeks.

Have noticed #0912c skipping a frame about every 4 sec playing 23.976, Skylake nuc

This might in fact be something else: http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/16894#comment:1 add you Debug Log to the report and subscribe yourself if you see that it matches your error.
