dink Wrote:When you Add Source you need to scroll down the list of available sources until you reach "Video plugins". It sounds like you added the directory path instead. See http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=HOW-TO_install_and_use_plugins_in_XBMC#Adding_plugins_sources_in_XBMC_GUI for more details

Just wanted to express my thanks to the creator of the iPlayer plug in, great work! Really enjoying getting seamless iPlayer on my TV.

I also wanted to highlight that it is being reported that the BBC will be unleashing the iPlayer HD this month:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/technology/2009/03/09/bbc-iplayer-hd-from-this-month-115875-21184813/

Do you think this plugin will be able to be updated to support this? Also, I am looking at getting an Apple TV to install xbmc and I was wondering if it could cope with streaming HD from the iPlayer? I know the apple TV is capable of playing 720p when it is H.264 but I am not sure what file type iPlayer uses (is it Flash?) and if so, does that mean the Apple TV could display it?

Thanks!

Hi. Ive just gone from using XBMC on an xbox to installing it on a Vista32 HTPC. I dont seem to be able to get the iPlayer plugin working though. Whenever I try to start a stream the stream is "terminated"

Also where can I find my logs on vista! lol

God I feel like a noob.

Are you using the latest version of the plugin from http://drop.io/xbmcdink ?

Try looking for your logs under (this is where they are on XP)
[WINDIR]:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Application Data\XBMC

I noticed the same thing last night, its been working fine for months before that. I thought my install had become corrupted as it the error it pooped up said something along the lines of, check the plugin has been installed properly

so I tried revision 2009-03-06p the result was the same I checked ITV catch up and that sill works so maybe the bbc have changed some thing here's my log in case it helps

Not quite sure yet what is going on - As a work around you could upgrade to the latest T3CH build (it seems to work fine on my xbox) but ITV catchup becomes problematic with recent builds (lack of free mem on xbox it seems)

I will have a closer look over the weekend.

I general build XBMC from source as I wasn't sure when I last updated it made a new build off rev 18500 but know joy. I may have to try a full fresh install as the error this time was "python script failed" I'm thinking it has to do with the new special:// protocol and me not updating my user data folder this is the log from this time round just in case the problems not at my end

http://pastebin.com/m4457fa77

thanks for working on this plugin its been working like a dream for months now and your implementation is very snappy and user friendly.

Looking at your logs it appears the problem is in reading the mediaselector xml file for the episode you have selected to watch. This file is used to generate the url for the video stream. Somehow on the build you are using this isn't being fetched or processed correctly. This episode works fine on my xboc T£CH build 2009-03-04 SVN rev18221

Have you checked your internet connection by using iplayer via a web browser?

So is anyone else having this problem?

It's unlikely to be supported straight away as XBMC doesn't yet support even full quality SD streams. Frosty is looking at adding this XBMC so as soon as it is supported I will add it to the plugin. For more see this post

I try to down grade to that TC3H release but my XBOX wouldn't even boot up using it just went to black screen so i reverted to rev 18500

as far as connecting to the net Shoutcast works as dose Apple Movie Trailers
and move trailers II. Some other plugins scripts didn't work but since I don't know if they worked before my resent problems I don't know if that really mean any thing I thing.Huh
I will have to try a fresh install as I'm getting iplayer withdrawal symptomsLaugh

I think I remember having to move the XBMC dir rather than installing over it.

For net connection did you try from a PC/Mac web browser loading the iplayer website and playing something?

Is anyone having issues with garbled show titles? On the latest version, rather than the title, I see a bunch of hex, like an id. The image shows fine, and it plays fine, but I have to guess what it is from the picture.
