Oh I definitely looked, it doesn't exist yet. Maybe when they fully update to Nougat.

They haven't fixed HDR playback issue yet. It still gets stuck in the HDR mode. I think official support for HDR will come only with "N" update. Right now, HDR10 sort of works because Amlogic has it in their SDK.

Also @Koying will have to fix HD audio passthrough for SPMC. It doesn't work now.

Does anyone have any issues with the Mi box keeping the 4K resolution?

I cant seem to figure out why as it seems random, but it keeps defaulting back to 1080@60 instead of 4k....

Hopefully someone else has the issue and can point me in the right direction!

In Android Settings > Display > Screen Resolution...

Make sure "Auto Switch to Best resolution" is OFF

I will try now with usb stick, since for ADB you have to root the box.
Can I take the RC ARM v8a 64bits version or the 32bits version?
Do I need to uninstall Jarvis?

Did the 'power key/definition' option go missing after the latest update? Need to find a way to have it shutdown so when the next user uses the Mi Box, the android TV home appears first.

RE: Xiaomi 4K HDR 'Mi Box' (Android TV set-top box) - wrxtasy - 2017-01-15

Long press the Power button I'm told now does a full shutdown. Short press puts the device into Standby.
Yes the Power Key setting has gone AWOL.

@gerardo, After you activate WiFi server in the X-Plore App - look under the WiFi server Icon for the IP address of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1111
That is the IP address you type into a PC Web browser.
You do not use adb at all.
32 bit versions of Kodi Krypton are the ones you need to use.
Krypton, when installed, will overwrite previous Jarvis installs. SPMC will be unaffected.

Holding the power button brings up the power menu with Reboot being the only option. Have also tried holding it for at least 10 seconds with no results.

Edit: Does a PlayTV tuner work with the mi box?

Now I have Jarvis and I want to put newest Krypton in it, but on playstore I cannot find the newest Krypton(from 13 january).
Is it possible to use a webbrowser on this box?

I get Krypton right through play store.

Try this link, I think this is how I signed up. https://play.google.com/apps/testing/org.xbmc.kodi

Did anyone else lose SMPC as a suggestible app on the home screen (with latest firmware update)? It is still enabled in the settings as an app to use for suggestions but I'm only getting YouTube now.

I get it the same way. HD Audio works great. But is it possible to decode AAC 5.1 as PCM 5.1 ? The work around is to convert to AC3 5.1, but it is a lossy conversion.

Another problem with the new firmware (not Kodi related) is that it broke CEC. No more ARC from TV to receiver when the mi box is on standby.

hi there, sorry for hijacking the thread, but this seems like one of the more active threads on the MI box and you guys seem to know your stuff.

I just ordered a mi box 3 international version off ebay and am looking forward to getting it. I almost didn't get it because a lot of the reviews said it struggled to playback 4k content well. Then I started to read online like on this forum that these issues have been mostly fixed with latest updates. Could I just ask a few questions....

Is 4 content , say from netflix now playing smoothly ?
Does anyone have the international version of the mi box, if so, Does this receive as regular updates as the US version ?

The processor on the international version is not named anywhere on the spec sheet, just says quad core.
Is it the SoC S905X-H from AMLogic ?

Thanks

I don't see any Hijacking going go, you are in the correct thread Wink

The International version of the Mi Box and the USA released version of the Mi Box are exactly the same model, that being - MDZ-16-AB

I've seen both and the only difference was the Plain Brown Box the International Version came in and the EU power supply plug.

They both get the same Firmware updates and yes the Mi Box is using the HDR capable AML S905X.

I've just done a retest of 4K HEVC test clips, and the Mi Box is not as reliable at all playing back a wide range of varied 4K HEVC clips vs my C2 running LibreELEC Krypton.

I've not seen reports of issues with 4K Netflix. Unable to test here.
