Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - thegooddoctor - 2016-08-22 The problem: Subtitles always being rendered independent of settings OS tested: Windows and LibreElec (RPi) and problem apparent with both systems Test File: Angry Birds 2016 1080p 3D BluRay Half-OU x264 AC3-JYK torrent (recent 3D JYK releases demonstrate this bug) Does not matter if the video is rendered as 2D or 3D. (I attempted to provide a clip but the subtitle bug was not present with the clip) Media Info: Code: General Bug Reported to main KODI bug tracker on 16/09/24. RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - nickr - 2016-08-22 debug log (wiki) RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - thegooddoctor - 2016-08-23 this was the 2D conversion on Win7; again problem apparent on both Win7 and RPi (only two that I tested; therefore OS independent) (and the subs are not hardcoded as MPC does not render the subs) debug log RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - nickr - 2016-08-24 I downloaded the video to try it. Press L on the keyboard (or an equivalent remote key) to cycle through the subtitles, including "disabled" Something has changed though. Now if you do select disabled (cycling through via the "L" key, it does take a few seconds for the subs to switch) (2016-08-24, 09:23)nickr Wrote: Something has changed though.I am not really quite sure what you meant with that comment (could someone clarify what he meant?) RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - nickr - 2016-08-25 I mean in 16 you could cycle (including disable) quite simply with 't'. It doesn't seem to work quite the same in Krypton. I am pretty sure the 'l' is new. More investigation required. RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - thegooddoctor - 2016-08-25 even though you can cycle through the subtitles, selecting 'disabled' still has the subtitles rendered i did, however, find that cycling via the key "L" and selecting disabled would take a few seconds before the subtitles began to render again (again the subtitles were set to be disabled) RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - host505 - 2016-08-26 (2016-08-25, 04:46)nickr Wrote: I mean in 16 you could cycle (including disable) quite simply with 't'. I don't think this has changed in v17. RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - nickr - 2016-08-27 Indeed @host505 you are right. All these years I thought my remote was sending the equivalent of 'T', but it was 'L'. Anyway, perhaps the subs in this video are forced? RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - Glyphs - 2016-08-30 Can you try with some other video files? (for clarity) RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - elindsey - 2016-09-03 Just found out I posted a duplicate thread, sorry about that...I did search the forum before I made my post but I must not have seen this one in the flood of "how to disable subtitles by default"... http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=289333&pid=2407098&mode= Anyways, even if the subtitles are forced, going to Preferred Subtitled Language and setting "None" instead of "Forced Only" or one of the default options should still override them, or am I misunderstanding that option? Also, just want to point out that I was using Kodi 16.1, so this bug has been present at least since then. RE: Bug Report: Subtitles always rendered independent of settings - elindsey - 2016-09-17 No more information on this? |
