Issues when typing the letter "C" - PeaceDealer - 2016-08-23
Hi
Just installed Kodi on my laptop.
Im encountering a very odd issue, when typing. Whenever I hit the letter "C", if I do not give it a second to process, and keep typing, it does not seem to register.
This is when using the keyboard to type, and not the kodi typing system.

I'm unsure this is a Kodi issue, just because you installed it, Is Kodi running in the background? With laptop short stroke keys, it's more than possible your keybaord has accumulated some crud, Load up notepad or some wp and type as if you where a touch typist, are you still seeing the issue? With Kodi in focus, and in sub screens the 'c' key is being polled looking for the sig to pop up the contextual menu.

This issue is fully isolated to Kodi, and only happnes when i type "C" on my laptop's keyboard, and has occured consitently, even after multiple full formats of my laptop

Should maybe have put this in OP, but this is not my first install of kodi on this laptop, and been a consistant user of the software for multiple years on multiple devices

Debug log and type c a lot (and another letter to compare)?
That's the only way I can think of that you'll see anything.

In other words... it's only when Kodi is running and you are multi-tasking with Kodi in windowed mode? Unsure of many issues here, a proper debug log posted to a public paste-bin linked backed to this thread would go a long way.

Check system is 'clean' (ie nothing banned here).
Enable debug logging.
Restart kodi.
Type c a lot.
Type x a lot.
Close kodi.
Upload log to paste site.
Post link here.

The issue is when typing in code
Ie, setting up a new file source for movies, when typing the details to my ftp server.
or, when searching for Addons, or any other place where you can input text in.

I repliaced the issue, when searching for an addon.
Typing in the world "peace" would turn out "peae" unless i took a 1 second pause after hitting the "C" key.

Very odd. Problem occurs consistently across the app on my laptop.
Maybe an issue with drivers on my laptop then.

Your debug log is happy recording the 'single key press' of the various letters, without a hint of issue. Between the anti-bounce of the o/s and the polling of the keybaord, system input priorities, it leaves really no clue. The only thought I have is that either your system is close to saturated and some higher level priority is interrupting and as Kodi is ever vigilant watching 'c' for menu's we get a null, but it's not even recording. With your past experience, and it's likely that a Jarvis fix is not in the cards; my suggestion would be to get on the Krypton bandwagon where all the developers are focused for anomalies, perhaps changing out for new code will switch out the issue.
