Updated to Kodi 17 yesterday: USB optical passthrough of DTS and DD 5.1 not working anymore. Only 2 channel PCM will work.
SPMC 16.5.5 works fine after selecting RAW, but I stopped using SPMC a while ago because of built-in subtitles not working from library.
I am wondering whether the Kodi team took ShieldTV + USB audio for toslink into account (however pcm 2.0 works, probably has to do with the fact that I cannot choose RAW over IEC and I think Kodi 16 was not using IEC yet?).
Hope this can be fixed, otherwise "stuck" with kodi 16.
You can help team kodi quite a log by posting a Debug Log. As most people don't understand "what worked ™" with Jarvis I won't explain that a 200th time ... if the only thing in mind is "Jarvis worked, but, but, but, but Krypton" - go download a "shitty" build as adviced above. It will bring back the Jarvis audio behaviour by changing two lines of codes intended to save people from theirselves as they obviously have no clue at all what Jarvis did ...
Build shitty v17 final while we speak.

With Kodi 16, passthru worked fine for Movies, TV and Sound files, but with Kodi 17 passthru seems to be broken.
Well, the setup itself is working fine, as it's the same I am using myself. What Android version are you running at the moment, there should be an update to Nougat available?

No, you don't need to. Just follow the instructions named here: http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_on_Fire_TV#Downgrading_Kodi.
This should work fine, done it myself twice sofar.

In previous versions it would be converted to PCM, so that would already be a downgrade.... unless the Kodi devs find some way to passthrough that in the future.
I use my receiver to play those files, the perfect sound of DSD!

I´m asking this because all my other audio and movie files play perfectly in all audio format with Krypton final.
I´m using Tronsmart Vegas S95 Telos and I doubth an Firmware update coming for this box.

I appreciate it and can imagine it is sometimes annoying having to explain certain things over and over again. I will switch on the debug log. I hope it will be interpreted as a bug by Kodi. Please don't get me wrong, I am enjoying XBMC/Kodi for quite some years on several devices and it became part of my lifestyle. I appreciate all the effort that went and goes into it while it remains free of charge. Very grateful for all the development.

Well, at least with Shield 5.0, you can have 192k PCM, which would be an improvement for those for which it matters

No Debug Log no issue.
For all that spam this thread without any valuable information: I will ask our moderators to directly delete such stuff in the future. It does not help it only brings this thread to a wastebin niveau. We tested AC3 transcoding internally on various shields: Works on all of them.

Same issue with and android 6.0 tv box: kodi 16.1 worked great with DTS pass through, kodi 17 doesn't.
Any solution?
