Zidoo fixed this once, what hell is going onHuh
For the record ISO files with HD audio are fine.
Also the apk for UHD blu ray playback does not trigger HDR on my set, all other HDR MKV files that i have are fine.

I figured out the problem, it wasn't just ISO files that played fine, anything from usb played without stutter or pause it was just large bit rate files from Network, i have flashed back to 1.2.11 and the all Large Network files (Atmos, 4K DTS:X) play smooth again so there is a Network speed or cache problem in the 1.4.4 release.

Tell me how to provide the information... if i play a large bit rate HEVC file with Atmos audio via wired NFS on 1.2.11 it plays fine. (It also played fine on the 1.3 beta)
If i playback the same files with 1.4.4 and factory reset i get stutter and pauses via wired NFS.
The same files play fine via USB.
The same files play fine on Oppo 203 via NFS (plugged into same switch as Zidoo).

Maybe extracting a sample via MKVMerge, checking issue is still present, then sharing for Zidoo to test with? Have you tested via SMB (just to rule out possible NFS issue with Zidoo)?

Ok I have some good news for people with the Zidoo x10 and I am assuming at least the x9s will be in the same boat for sure. A developer from Zidoo has confirmed to me that 1.4.4 is only an initial firmware update to build the BD Java section and to start implementing Kodi 17 properly. It is still ZDMC with Kodi 17 using a modified audio setup to implement pass-through audio, but eventually that will be a thing of the past. They confirmed that they are working on official android pass-though api, which this is where it gets good...once they finalize that api for these, that means that Netflix, Plex Android (not the Kodi plug-in), and Vudu and all those apps that people get the Nvidia Shield for will now be 100% on par regarding audio. Not sure if that also means the 4k streaming with Netflix or Vudu will be official though, but at least our Atmos/DTS:S/DTS-HD/TrueHD will be available in the native android system on this box. I am assuming that some of the audio sync and stuttering that happens when pausing and all that will clean up too, because that is no doubt an issue with their "modified" audio settings. I think the lag or sync comes from the box having to thread a couple extra tasks instead of allowing the Android OS to do it naturally. Good news right? I hope this becomes the Shield Killer!

With the proposed changes to Netflix and others that they will not work on rooted devices this could be a real problem.
It seems that many apps see the Zidoo as rooted when in fact it is not.
Perhaps related to SafetyNet and CTS

C'mon people are allowed to dream ! Wink

The very first requirement on Android devices to stream any thing greater than a 480p resolution from say Netflix is Widevine Level 1 DRM. Without that, forget about it.

Simply adding standard Google IEC code to firmware to enable proper DTS and HD audio support for Kodi Krypton has nothing to do with being able to stream copy protected 1080p or 4K Video from various DRM Apps.

There are a LOT of hoops to be jumped thru, before a device even hits the market to get such DRM video streaming capabilities on Android devices.

(depending on you local needs)
At least for me since the shield still suffer from 3D support. Games are better on my PS4 and Amazon, Youtube or Netflix runs on TV native apps - for this i don't need an external box.

This plus the fact that Netflix is thinking to block rooted devices. Although x9s is not rooted, it is detected by such applications (Netflix, Amazon etc) as rooted.

the same problem is on some equipment with the original KODI.
If you add an source you have not to use "Windows network (SMB)". Use instead "add network location..." and than SMB. do not browse for your NAS, add that all by typing in.
