Thanks, is this hardware limitation or something that could be fixed/added in firmware updates?

Thanks for quick response, unfortunately I should mention that I'm using Optical output, due to lack of 4k support of my 4 year old AV Denon Receiver (only HDMI 1.4b). So HDMI goes directly to TV (2.0 -> 2.0), and optical output to receiver but S/PDIF output setting in audio options has only RAW or PCM 2 channel to select not auto
Is there some other setting so that AAC will work through optical output?

Will that help? I mean would that setting allow passing AAC 5.1 (or 7.1) audio through optical S/PDIF to receiver as is and not stereo? Because option name "force downmix audio(for optical)" would suggest downmixing multi-channel audio to stereo and this is what we get now for 5.1 AAC tracks.

If you try to access Public (the folder), what happens? I will try making an external folder too. So from what I see, you created a new shared folder, you created a new user with read only access to the folder, right?

Just one last inquiry. Inside Public you have 3 folders (if I remember correctly) like Public Videos. Can you try accessing one of these?
If it works, then I may do a factory reset on the WD.

May be you should be clean the app cache: Luncher--apps find "file explorer",Press "menu" key on remote,select "clean data".
Then try again.

Thanks!Well,in the next version we will be try to optimized audio option.If the settings is RAW and playing AAC audio,The audio output will be temporarily changed to PCM

Hey Guys! Newbie here.
So i have been searching for something to play 4K, HDR, 10-bit and 3D(is 4:4:4 necessary for movies?) on my Samsung js8500. I dont care about much else, as i will play most movies via USB 3.0. Smooth video play and no dropping frames is a must.
Been lurking around and checking countless reviews and i finally settled with this one, the Zidoo X9S.
Viewing this forum ive seen that the support for this one is active which is nice
. Now i just wanted some tips for the best picture and settings(kinda confused about external/internal and the hdmi audio output formats) on my device, my setup is samsung js8500 with HarmanKardon SB26 in hdmi arc, the Zidoo will supply my TV with the movies thru a HDD connected via the USB 3.0 (usb 3.0 was a biggie for me too) i like to play mostly ISO files but i guess hevc is getting more common.Anything to think about or just follow page 1 and the pictures and im good to go? Im thinking about having the auto 24p/50p/59p stuff off and set to manual whenever i need that right frame-rate, since this will only be a movie device.

zidoo X8 : 2160p60/10bit/ycbcr 4.2.0
Sony 65x930c : hdmi enhanced / bt2020

if you have an HDR TV or projector HDR , could you check on your side ?
i tested the full movie and my sample and i have the same problem with the deep color, it looks like 8-bit gradient or with dithering on my TV, with HDR demo Samsung, Sony, etc... i do not have this problem.
