I have a 50GB 3D bluray iso from the Gravity with menu. If i try to play it from ZDMC i can play only the 2D movie. When i play it from Media Center, i only plays the main movie in 3D but in both situation i don't see a menu.

The ZDMC or Kodi doesn't support BD Menu unless you use VidOn XBMC, but doesn't work well..
Too much bugs
Thats wierd, I have tried the Bluray from War Dogs 2D with ZDMC and it haves a menu.
Image
But it has a little stutter and after a few minutes the audio disappears.

Whats the difference in player between ZDMC and the Media Center player?

Huge issues with dts-hd tracks, unwatchable!

Still same old bugs, nothing fixed!

Cracks in audio in main menu zdmc while scrolling, harmfull for speakers!
Watched movie "the bfg" with dts-hd track, as soon as movie starts, audio problems until thr end of the movie!
Get this asap right! Rating of. This player should go to B for the moment cause these are Main stuff that should work! Will report in beta forum

We've made some real progress. The cause of this problem is more complicated, maybe have a result in a week

Cool looking forward to !
Hope you can fix cause its a key feature zidoo should play

Anyway, we'll keep checking about Makemkv
That file was just split using MKVToolNix/mkvmerge. The original MVC MKV would have been generated using makemkv.
Correct, that's exactly what I did w/that sample.

It takes longer and command line:
eac3to -> MVCCombine -> MKVToolNix

First, use eac3to to demux the tracks from the Blu-Ray, then you need to use MVCCombine.exe to merge the left and right eye together ('MVCCombine.exe -l <left_eye.h264> -r <right_eye.h264> -o combineMVC.h264'). After that, use MKVToolNix to put everything in a MKV.

Some more bugs(version 1.2.7) coming your way Mirror88 Big Grin

1. I now have the dreaded 720p bug. Not sure what causes this. Could be because I turned on the daydream(screensaver) feature as another user noted .For this I followed the steps outlined in this post(http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=291943&pid=2481589#pid2481589). Screensaver itself works just fine. Also it didn't started happening right away. About 2-3 days later. Everytime I open a movie I now have to confirm changed resolution

2.The unit now randomly goes into standby when watching a movie. There's no pattern to it. There's no fixed time for this and there are times it won't go into standby. This happens only when watching a movie and not when it's idle.

Also regarding resume of playback, I've found a pattern. If you've selected Repeat All or Off in native player settings and watch 10 movies all for less than a minute than it'll resume all of them. However if you watch a movie for say one hour than stop that movie and then watch another movie for long time (~30 minutes) and then come back to the previous movie the bookmark is gone and it starts from the beginning. So watching a movie for some time (~30 minutes) deletes all previous bookmarks except the one you're watching currently. Selecting Repeat one just stops resuming for all movies

Despite all these bugs I still have hopes for Zidoo. Primarily because they're actually responding to the feedback and trying to rectify them. Hopefully by version 1.2.9 they'll have all the major bugs rectified

Is this not exactly what MakeMKV is doing on the fly?

RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - nikos_a - 2017-01-04

If we get a MVC mkv generated with MakeMKV and remux it in MKVToolnix, do we sort out the issue? At least until we have a permanent solution. Personally I have all my 3D content in MVC mkvs generated with MakeMKV and all of them play fine in Mede8er 600x3D, the same as they do with the ISOs I rip them of.

RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - hdmkv - 2017-01-04

Zidoo needs to look at, compare the header/metadata in MakeMKV and MKVMerge. Like @wesk05 and I've said, Intel NUC and RPi play both MVC's fine.

Here's the 'Ruin' sample, ripped w/MakeMKV, and put though MKVMerge (for grabbing a segment for the A/V wiki):

I must admit that my initial enthusiasm for this device is fading. I really hope the new firmware will solve the issues and arrives soon. I am seriously considering returning it as the audio dropouts (also during music listening from an SATA-attached SSD) are a no-go for me. The new NVidia Shield looks interesting as an alternative.

RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - gadgetman67 - 2017-01-05

I am confident the audio dropouts will be sorted so prepared to wait it out a little longer. After installing the beta sorted my network share and external player pop up windows, made my device completely unusable is now sorted. The next firmware is the deciding factor problem is not long before i can send back and we were promised before xmas new firmware then changed before end of year. Time is running out for me.

Anyone with the beta or mirror88 that knows about the "Unknown error" message when you go back (and out) of a Samba share, and then trying to get back in through the explorer, can you please check if this issue is sorted? It is VERY annoying...

This is via ZDMC? If so, it happens on occasion, especially w/Kodi on Android. Here's a fix.

The audio dropouts several of you have reported, is it just DTS-MA? 2D or 3D? Which type of container (MKV or ISO)?

RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - nikos_a - 2017-01-05

No, not via ZDMC. Through the Zidoo explorer. I go to a Samba share, I play a file, I press back so many times to go out of the share (say to main screen), then I try to get back in to the same share and I can't. Throws the "Unknown error" message. It has been reported by others too. The only way to get this back to work is to restart the x9s.

Here's another report of the issue (I suppose with 1.2.6 judging from the post date)
