I just listed what is going on at the moment with various Kodi Forks.
I'm not laying down the rules on this one.
On face value it does seem very restrictive if we can discuss Pure Kodi only .

4K or HDR files are not working when I change the resolution to 3480X2160p @ *** (Playback flickers from black screen back and forth)but when I change the resolution back to 1080p then everything plays without an issue.
Very disappointed, this should not be an issue as long as this player been available.

Agree, and I don't have a HDR display yet, but will get one this year. Need @mirror88 to step back in and re-engage efforts on the few annoying bugs that remain.

It's a complete failure Zidoo. Put the slowest flash memory in their top device.

A new Firmware and the much warranted fixes for the video bugs have not been addressed.

After switching off the LED flash and is not responding. After a power cut the reset button does not respond because the LED is blinking.
What causes it?

when using the zidooplayer, what does full vs fit mean in the aspect ratio? I noticed that when I play a 3d ISO that's in 2.40:1 the box does not stretch all the way to the left/right border of the screen when it's set to fit mode

For a start, having a media player on top of another device is not good even if the device underneath is in standby mode. In this case the temperature is your enemy especially for devices with plastic cases that keep the heat inside. I didn't understand much from your post (if this happens randomly or it is "stuck" like that now) but if this happens randomly consider to move the x8 away from top of this device.
