That suggests that mmal will work as desired with one on the older builds from here (perhaps a couple of months back).
Narrowing down the first build with the problem would be useful to identifying the commit that caused the issue and hence finding a fix for it.

When I go back to LE8, does Amazon work then or not?

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0) - Milhouse - 2017-07-08

This is a debug-enabled #0708h build: RPi2

It will create more detailed and useful crash logs for anyone experiencing crashes. Sorry about the odd build identifier but Kodi just merged a load of add-on changes and this was a debug-build I just happened to create prior to the latest merge.

Milhouse can you reproduce this crash? Can you confirm which build it started in?
(I'm away from home this weekend so my ability to debug/test is limited).

I've only seen it the once so far (first time for me in my #0708g test build but obviously it's there in at least #0706). I have tried to reproduce but so far failed - will try some more. If I can find a way to reliably reproduce then I'll identify the first build, but with a random failure that's much harder....

Greetings Cosmicbase

No, there is no Amazon support in LE8 - it's currently only in these test builds.

However what popcornmix is asking is for you to go back methodically through the LE9 test builds in this thread until you identify when the playlist problem started - I normally start with a build from 6 months ago (eg #0101) and if that works, try #0201, if that works try #0301, if that is broken you know the problem is between #0201 and #0301 so now try #0215 and repeat the process until you identify the single build where the problem starts. It's possible the problem may have been introduced more than 6 months ago in which case go back further until you find a working build then work your way forwards. It's tedious, but usually very effective...

Once you've done that you can return to using the latest test build (with Amazon etc., but broken Youtube playlist). Popcornmix stands a much better chance of fixing the Youtube issue once he knows when it stopped working, then you can have both Amazon and Youtube playlists. Smile

No not really. There's general Kodi maintenance that might be useful, such as purging your texture cache ("texturecache.py P") every once in a while, but there's not really anything specific to LibreELEC.

(2017-07-08, 15:38)J_E_F_F Wrote: or does installing a new nightly (via ssh) take care of everything?

ssh, Samba share, LE addon, Leopolds addon - the end result is always the same and should take care of everything. Smile

(2017-07-08, 10:49)linkinsoldier Wrote: 2) When using Software Decode my Rpi gets pretty hot (getting heat warning icon) - I am using the official kodi case - am I the only one?

Software decode will inevitably get hotter than the more efficient hardware decode.
Is the video playback fine if you ignore the warning symbol?
If so, then "avoid_warnings=1" in config.txt will hide the warning.
No harm will occur - the throttling stops the temperature reaching undesirable levels.

If the throttling interferes with video playback then a themal solution is needed.
I use a FLIRC case which is *very* good and would solve the issue.
Removing the current case and aligning the pi pcb vertically may help with ventilation.
A stick on heat sink helps a little (but much less so than a case like the FLIRC).
Thanks for the feedback, I will keep testing and get back to you! What do you think about my idea with the aspect ratio?

About the case: I bought the official case from kodi (actually bought 4 of them for support [emoji6]) - isn't this the same case as the flirc case? I tried putting it on the left side which helps a little [emoji2]

Do you recommend do go to a more powerful system (e.g. Odroid-C2?) or is libreeelec RPi3 support better than for odroid? I originally bought the RPi3 for testing with the milhouse builds (love your work man!)

Hi!

I've problems with build #0707:

Visualization Spectrum: Not working

19:08:01.368 T:1942482960 ERROR: Add-on 'Spectrum' is using an incompatible API version for type 'Addon'. Kodi API min version = '1.0.10', add-on API version '1.0.9'

Netflix plugin: Not working (reboot kodi) but Amazon VOD plugin is working fine.

thanks...and thanks for all the hard work!

Thanks! Maybe I have to wait for an rpi4 for full HD playback then [emoji6]

I am satisfied with the ODROID C2. You just have to find the right build.
Look at my signature for the example

Yes, kodi case is a rebranded flirc case and you should have no problems with temperature.
If you are having problems make sure the thermal pad is making good contact
(it should be touching both processor on Pi board and aluminium square that protrudes from top of case).
