I am very new to this, as you can surely tell. I went from #901 to #903 I was able to boot in to #901 at least twice before it started to fail to boot in to libreelec. I will see the splash animation and then it force restarts before it ever opens. After 3 failures I boot in to a safe mode for libreelec. And that's where I am at now.

http://ix.io/1m5w - The log you requested.

Thanks again.

I'm assuming that's a journalctl after you have entered safe mode in which case kodi is now starting cleanly, so it doesn't include any useful information.

From within the "safe mode" Kodi can you submit a crash log - go to Settinngs > LibreELEC and upload the crash log:

then post the link.

OK I see the problem, although not sure how this has happened[1] but you're missing a critical profiles file. Boot into safe mode then execute:
text:

cp /storage/.kodi/userdata/profiles.xml /storage/.kodi.FAILED/userdata
then reboot.

Are you doing anything that modifies profiles?

1. I may have introduced a possible cause for a few days, but that was fixed in #0827

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0) - Milhouse - 2018-09-09

Looks like the last release used the wrong build code - I started it a few seconds before midnight and by the time the build code is updated the date had rolled over. Sigh.

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0) - ManiacKill - 2018-09-09

Good Morning,

For some time now, my KeyMap for Fire Remote has stopped working!

Code:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
-<keymap>
-<global>
-<keyboard>
<key id="44">contextmenu</key>
</keyboard>
</global>
-<fullscreenvideo>
-<keyboard>
<key id="44">playerprocessinfo</key>
</keyboard>
</fullscreenvideo>
</keymap>

Is there something changed?

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0) - Klojum - 2018-09-09

@ManiacKill

Lose the dash chars at the line starts, for starters
xml:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<keymap>
<global>
<keyboard>
<key id="44">contextmenu</key>
</keyboard>
</global>
<fullscreenvideo>
<keyboard>
<key id="44">playerprocessinfo</key>
</keyboard>
</fullscreenvideo>
</keymap>

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0) - ManiacKill - 2018-09-09

That's exactly how my KeyMap is structured!
She always worked.

Hi Milhouse,

I want to test the latest testbuild with my environment. This is complete network booting without an SD card. a few month agou you updated the testbuild with the driver for pi 3b+ for this.
Yesterday I got the POE hat for my Pi and I want to test the lastest build because there is an (fan) driver for the hat available.
8.2.5 with network boot works well.
the latest two testbuild crashes after the kodi intro video / boots the kernel and i got one crash log then the display stays blank and I'm able to access the linux console via ssh.
i tested your build with a clean storage so there shoud be no impact from addons! Only my advancedsettings.xml for database connection and some dirmapping are available.

there is nothing available in the log:
http://ix.io/1mkM

and here is the crashlog:
http://ix.io/1mkN

since 0822 there is also rpi-poe.dtbo missing... (new kernel version in this update)

if you need more information or if i can do something at the console pls. give feedback.

Thanks
Frank

Yes, thanks for reporting this - it looks like RPi POE support is missing from the 4.18.y kernel - I've pinged popcornmix about that.

I don't think the Kodi crash is netboot (or POE) related - Kodi seems to be in an infinite/recursive loop authenticating URLs for some reason, presumably path substitution related.

The line in the log that should be appearing (but doesn't) is:
text:

00:19:45.400 T:1938610848 NOTICE: CMediaSourceSettings: loading media sources from special://masterprofile/sources.xml

Just out of interest, is Kodi starting successfully with #0821?

Can you try starting Kodi 18 (ie. #0907) without your path substitutions? If Kodi starts, can you add the path substitutions back one at a time to determine which one is the problem?

If LibreELEC 8.2.5 is starting Kodi *with* your path substitutions but these test builds are not, then this would suggest there is a change in Kodi 18 that is causing the problem - I fixed LE9 netbooting in #0323 so hopefully the problem exists somewhere between #0323 and #0907, can you identify the first build with the problem?

Hi Milhouse,

thanks for your response. I tested a lot of test builds during the last hours.
The followinf test scenarios:
- complete Network boot wir path to boot files and storage dir.
- clean storage dir only with advancedsettings.xml
- tested with complete redirect of masterprofile and redirect of special files in masterprofile
- the problem is only with sources.xml and passwords.xml. if both are not redirected it is working, a complete redirect of masterprofile is also not working.
- Same problem with smb and nfs redirect (nfs has no username/password for the protocol)

as I said, i made a lot of tests and I hope a made no mistake!

Up to 0326 is working and from 0327 its not working.

hope this will help you.

Thanks
Frank
