RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0) - hanspeter - 2018-11-04

Hi all, can someone tell me what the actual status of OMX is? I heard that it's deprecated, does this mean, reporting bugs (both long-standing, really annoying to debug, with live-streaming via pvr.hts) makes still sense, or will they just be ignored? Or will 18 just be the last version that will use OMX, and it's still supported for the time beeing...?

/hp

very good question, i use OMX instead of mmal
it works better for me with live TV, i hope that OMX will stay in kodi 18

Is it possible to increase the cache with mmal player? (to keep 10 or 12 secondes in cache memory)? with an xml or another option?

It seems to be crashing in the Spectrum visualization - something similar has been reported with ProjectM in the Generic test thread. No idea why this issue has started - I assume #1103 is working fine?

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0) - Malocher - 2018-11-06

I often have a loud dull cracking in the TV speakers when booting Kodi. But that does not happen with every boot, it seems to be a coincidence.

How is the audio connected? Hdmi/analogue/other?
Is it a single crack, or does it continue?

A good question. @popcornmix @Milhouse can you shed some light in the dark?

To the best of my knowledge OMX hasn't been deprecated in Kodi 18, so it is still worth reporting OMX bugs, but OMX is likely to be dropped in Kodi 19 (along with RPi0/RPi1 support in general).

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0) - Germeleon - 2018-11-07

I've noticed three bugs in build #1105 on my RPI3:

- Kodi needs about 3 minutes to open the libreelec settings menu and opens it slowly with a noticable lag. The CPU workload is about 123% in the meantime.

- Addon Amazon VOD doesn't work anymore. If you open it and select something like series or movies, it offers nothing than an emtpy folder. Will report this in the Amazon VOD addon section, too

Debug log here.

plus
- Kodi crashes at times. The crash logs are here and here.

Hope my findings and debug logs are helpful.

Kind Regards,

Germeleon

RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0) - AltxF4 - 2018-11-07

@Germeleon, Sandman79 is working on a fix. It seems Amazon changed some stuff on their end. There is a intermediate fix that you can use, it is listed in Sandman79's github under xbmc/issues/200
