As far as ffmpeg is concerned, if there is no source ratio you can't have a display ratio as you don't know the aspect of the original pixels. I follow their mentality because they've got a lot more experience than I do and if they think it's right then I acquiesce to their expertise.

I think xbmc just assumes a 1:1 PAR if there isn't one, so I would assume it wouldn't play correctly.

EDIT: No wait, I want to change my answer to "Movie Magic"

if somebody could please attach some skin files (preferably pm3.hd) to the ticket, it would make it a bit easier to test before adding the diff....

Aeon Mod that supports this patch .. http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=52581

- spiff - 2009-06-15

thanks crash-x.

this patch now sits in svn @ r21076. everybody send your beer and/or first borns to capnbry!

Great news! Thanks for that spiff (and CapnBry of course).

Neat. I notified the windoze guys of the new change...once I get me an official build, I'll get off my lazy arse and update Serenity properly. Maybe having this feature included will motivate people to actually give it a try. Wink

Thanx CapnBry!!

Ok!
So, being this is in the SVN.
The next T3CH build should include this flagging feature?

Can someone please confirm which skins accommodate for this feature at present?

Thanks

At this very moment? Probably none. Some mods exist.

In the near future? Aeon, PM3.HD, Serenity. Probably mediastream and minimeedia.

Give it a week. I can practically guarantee things are gonna happen rapidly.

Looks like jezz_x already added support for it for PM3.HD .. http://trac.xbmc.org/changeset/21085

I tested Jester build and also did the nightly, but I am not getting my flags now.

Previously I had it working perfect with the build from this thread. Is anyone else having the same issue. I have done a complete reinstall and rebuilt my library. I tested it against the Aeon mod and my own PM3.HD mod which was working prior to the new build.

- spiff - 2009-06-16

ah, there is always atleast 10.

settings -> video -> enable it. as i said clearly in the commit message + we said in the blog post

- xexe - 2009-06-16

Can i just confirm.

Once the feature is activated the first library update will scan the appropriate information from the entire collection.

Is it safe to turn this feature on and off to allow an iterative update of the database for those of us with larger databases that will take a long time to scan?

- spiff - 2009-06-16

you are in error. if enabled it loads the info in the background, not on scan. just entering the folder

- xexe - 2009-06-16

Entering the folder means entering the library view for a show or movie or file view browsing... or just when it needs the info for the gui and doesnt have the info it goes and gets it?

Edit: the reason i ask is with central NAS devics and a large collection and spun down disks I need to think about an efficient means to update this info that doesnt have my NAS bouncing disks up and down like yoyos

- spiff - 2009-06-16

yes, entering the folder / the movie list / the whatever that holds files that lacks info. alternatively, if the info is missing on playback time, it is loaded then.
