RE: nVidia Shield TV (2015 & 2017 Models) - UPDATED: May 25, 2018 - obwiz - 2019-02-15 I've whitelisted 1080 but still no switching Sheild set to recommended. Kodi set to 4k (Not sure if tha'ts right) but I play a Bluray and it stays at 4K. How do I get it to switch? nVidia Shield TV (2015 & 2017 Models) - UPDATED: May 25, 2018 - keanustar - 2019-02-15 I whitelisted all resolutions that show up in Kodi and when I play a 1080p video, TV info shows 1080p. I have the shield set to the recommended resolution 4k 2020 4:2:0. I haven't tried any 720p yet, but I would think they won't switch, since I don't have this rez in Kodi whitelist to select. My Shield is routed through an Onkyo AVR to LG B6. RE: nVidia Shield TV (2015 & 2017 Models) - UPDATED: May 25, 2018 - Ogreen - 2019-02-15 Change the shield to 12bits 60Hz REC 2020 and 720p will be available in whitelist RE: nVidia Shield TV (2015 & 2017 Models) - UPDATED: May 25, 2018 - obwiz - 2019-02-15 (2019-02-15, 10:15)obwiz Wrote: I've whitelisted 1080 but still no switchingAhem....User error! There's also a function called Debug Info that shows the current bitrate and frame rate and such. That should show what Kodi is outputting. I'm not sure what the keystroke to show it is, as I have it mapped to my Harmony Remote. To verify the Shield is outputting that, it depends on our TV or AV Receiver, whether it will show you that information. I'm not sure what the keystroke to show it is, as I have it mapped to my Harmony Remote. To verify the Shield is outputting that, it depends on our TV or AV Receiver, whether it will show you that information. 'O' and CTRL+SHIFT+'O' are the two useful keystrokes for playback information. (This is letter O, not numeral 0) When you press 'O' you get information about the content of the file you are playing - what it's resolution, frame rate is, and how it is being replayed (whether software decoding or hardware acceleration is being used). When you press CTRL+SHIFT+'O' you get information about the bitrates of the audio and video, and how many frames have been dropped etc. Some AVRs are good at displaying their input format and frame rate on their front panel or on-screen displays, and some have network connected apps that let you see that information on a smart phone or tablet. My older Onkyo and my current Denon both do this one way or the other. My Sony TV tells me a lot less - but will usually flag when it's in 24p mode by adding that to the vertical resolution. In 1080/50p and 1080/60p modes it just reports '1080p' but in 1080/24p mode it reports '1080/24p'. An ancient Samsung TV displays far more information on it's OSD. RE: nVidia Shield TV (2015 & 2017 Models) - UPDATED: May 25, 2018 - Luke Cage - 2019-02-21 The "O"-key also shows you whether hardware decoding "(HW)" or software decoding "(SW)" is used. Already mentioned above. And with the "Z"-key you can view the zoom/aspect ratio (single press) and cycle and change through all of them (with immediate effect) by pressing the "Z"-key repeatedly. Does it happen to you too? RE: nVidia Shield TV (2015 & 2017 Models) - UPDATED: May 25, 2018 - Kolabor - 2019-02-22 There is new firmware for the remotes that fixes battery drain. It is in Shield FW v7.2.3 which is in tests rigth now. |
