how is possible to monitor the temperature and load of cpu nvidia shield during playback of the video in kodi?

I recently installed CPU Monitor from the play store.

It allows you to display a floating circle (on top of whatever your displaying) with the CPU temp in it, the circle is positioned middle left on the screen, until you reboot box or switch it off.

I've just replaced every function of my  Win64 Kodi Box / Netflix via Bluray Player and a Chromecast device with the Shield and loving it, except Live TV....
Has anybody got the nVidia Shield TV 2017 16GB with Oreo/7.0.2 Shield Experience working with Live TV via Kodi?

Currently running NextPVR and the latest Kodi 18 Nightly (tried Alpha2/Alpha3 and various Nightlies) and Live TV will play for a few minutes before the framerate slows down and it eventually hangs?

Is this a Kodi 18 issue or a Oreo/Shield Experience issue?

Cheers All!

On Shield I use Kodi 17 something, the one from the store... not modded fixed changed anything really except set automatic refresh change - on play stop and enabled the live tv with the built in client.
My Tvheadend 4.2.6-7~g561355130 is running on debian.
I've been using this setup for about six months without any major issues. A handful times playback have stopped or frozen like you describe (or something like it), just stop playback and it starts again.
So yes, I have gotten live tv to work - many others here too I think Smile

Take particular note of the Power Button functionality.

I've just received this remote in the mail and it is OUTSTANDING!!

Having physical on/off button is a game changer for the shield and the volume buttons and pageup/pagedown also adds to the experience.

It took a little bit of time to get used to as the home and back buttons are on opposite sides of the remote, but now i'm used to it its great.

Voice works perfectly as well. Definitely recommended.

EDIT: To install, just go to settings >> add accessory on the Shield, and on the actual remote, hold down the "v-" and and "pg-" buttons together for a couple of seconds. You will need the original remote to click once it finds the new remote so it pairs. After that just put it away never to be used again!

Why'd they have to go and put the back button on the right side?

So while looking at that remote above (sold by BangGood), I came across this one:

The layout is pretty much my ideal remote. Has anyone tried this one on the Shield? It would be awesome if it worked perfectly, including voice control.

Looks like this if you don't want to check out the link:

That will be the remote that will come with the Google Voice - very slightly updated Xiaomi Mi Box I believe.

No one said it was better. Hell, who knows if it even works on the Shield.

I said that would be my ideal remote if it was compatible.  It has exactly all the buttons I care about and nothing more.
I especially like the layout of the buttons too.
Granted, it could be cheaper, but I might just be the guinea pig and purchase it anyway to see how compatible it is.
