[WIP] Quartz 5 (Krypton support) - TPX001 - 2017-03-14
Before starting this thread I'd like to mention that this skin wouldn't be here if it wasn't because of the hard work of Pecinko, credits go to him.
As you all probably know Quartz was originally created by Pecinko. After putting all his effort in Quartz 4, version 5 of his skin was born. Up to recently there was a post for Quartz 5 development lead by Pecinko himself. After having seen all this great work I decided to put myself on the development of this skin to. As you can see I've made a fork of Pecinko his skin. To check out the git repository of Pecinko click here.
So, what to expect from this new thread? In short, you'll find the different links to Git, where you'll be able to download the skin. Next to that the goal is also to get your feedback or possible enhancements I could implement for this skin. I would like to accentuate that I would happily merge other forks into this Quartz version if this is requested. Next to that you'll find different polls etc.
Notice
As you all know Krypton is already there.. currently this skin will only work on Jarvis. Effort is being put in this skin to port it.. any help is greatly appreciated off course. In the meanwhile certainly report any bugs or weird behavior, I'll try to fix those along the way.

Hi I'm so happy you are working on this beauty thanks a lot
few issues I saw while trying the skin
Dialog box to choose the skin not working properly as the yes or no are not aligned I was able to choose only with a mouse
Furthermore in settings video tab doesn't work

Thanks Yigo, you're correct! I was busy on fixing the dialog already. Keep reporting the bugs/glitches when you see them. In that way I can build a backlog.

Ok, dialog should be fixed now.. I've only tested a couple of cases where I could find the dialog. Let me know if you found some odd dialog.

Ok my report continues , in your recent version :
1. In settings video and music dialog tab do not work I
2. In the main screen under movies and tv showes the browse button doesnt function
3. When I try to change view type in an add on like from 55 to 52 a dialog box doesn't open

Based on what I can see this skin can again be a daily driver in a couple of weeks (top)..
My end goal would be to have a stable skin again so it could be added to the kodi repository. The road to getting there is still long.. So if you see some inconsistencies in the skin flow, report them to please!

Hi,
I have used Quartz since I first started to use XBMC and it is the only skin I use. I watch some movies and videos but I mainly listen to music and use XBMC/IKodi to display album art. I have messed around with modifying the skin but haven't yet got my brain wrapped around how to do that (and may never get it) but if I were able to modify skins I would like these things.
I would like to see 2 or 3 views in "Full Screen Player" similar to those on Squeezebox Touch. On the Touch there are 4 views that you can toggle through, 1) Album art with song title and artist beside it, 2) Only album art, centered and size maximized, on Squeeze box the aspect ratio of the picture is retained so if a full front and back picture of an album is shown it is not forced into a square display, 3) Equalizer bar for each channel showing the intensities, and 4) VU meters for each channel. The last two are the least important though I do use them occasionally.
Another thing that is missing in the music area, when selecting music using folders to access it, you used to be able to go directly to "Full Screen Player" from the song title by either pressing and holding the enter button and then selecting from the menu or by a left arrow and then selecting from a menu. Currently with Quartz 4 I must browse out to the Home screen to get to the full screen viewer.

Could you add the ability to change font size in the Ariel font
I can do it when I go to the font.xml but every update it changes what I did
If we can have this feature it would be great

.. the new link I've provided should already be pretty stable. There are some skins missing on a couple of deeply nested dialogs but nothing big. I'm currently using it as my daily driver and writing down any issues I can find. Feel free to add them to the 'issues' section too if you find them!

no problem ! i had a feeling most of what i changed already made in in your own krypton version. simply did not have the time to upload it sooner! i will install your version and give it a spin.

Upcoming week will be quiet busy here but hopefully the week after that should be okay to dig a bit more in solving bugs on Quart for Krypton and Jarvis. Thanks for the feedback on these topics and github.
