In seriousness, "it won't let me" is not in any way going to help someone to help you. You need to detail what you've got, what you've done and exactly what happens. Preferably with a log file.

Since you say that you have a "firestick" I assume that you mean Amazon FireTV and also assume that you don't have a TV-tuner yet.
Read the Kodi wiki about "PVR" here => http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR and here http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR_backend
Pretty sure you question is basically as here => http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=313646 and if so the same answer is the same too.
You need TV-tuner hardware + PVR backend software installed elseware, (either installed on a 'server' or use a network-attached tuner).
