Windows Media Server will not stream live TV to Kodi- Raspberry Pi3 - [email protected] - 2017-07-21

Hi-

I have a WMC PC on Win7 for several years. Just installed Windows Media Server on PC.

Have an RPi3 with PVR for WMC installed. Purchased license keys for MPeg2.

I believe I have all ports 9080, 9180(?), 8080(?) opened. Have disabled antivirus and windows firewall. Have enabled folder sharing

I can get guide data on PVR its just nothing happens when I try to stream live..... circle spins 5 to 7 seconds but no stream.

Would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Thank you,
Tim

Since you are trying to access it from a pi you need to add login credentials so the pi can access the shared folder. To do this, enter the login that serverwmc is run under in the "Folders" tab of serverwmc. If after making this change you still have the problem, replace the machine name in the network path with the IP address of the server machine (also on the Folders tab)..

Thank you. I was able to stream successfully- most of the time.

I am encountering one other problem.. When I boot up the pi, I get a message saying "ServerWMC add-on could not be loaded". Then if I go to channels or EPG I get the spinning circle that just stays at 0%.

It seems if I go to my add-on's and disable and then enable the add-on, the pi starts to download guide data and I can stream live tv.

Any thoughts on what may be happening here? I have uninstalled and re-installed the add-on a couple of times.

Thanks,
Tim

Try deleting the epg/tv cache on the pi (see kodi's live tv settings).
