Buffering only on videos from mobile phone - skullmonkey - 2017-08-10 I have LibreELEC installed on my Raspi2 with the latest Kodi. I have no problems playing 1080p videos from my Synology NAS. They play smooth. Also streaming over internet is also with no problems, but today I tried playing videos that I have recorded with my iPhone 4,5 and 6 and all of them buffer every 2 seconds. Same wifi, same NAS, same everything. I tried some cache settings, none of them works. Any guidance where to look for the problem? RE: Buffering only on videos from mobile phone - PatK - 2017-08-10 In all likelihood the encode is non-standard and is taking more resources to decode than your system will handle. Check with MediaInfo and compare with other videos that play smoothly. You might have to use some re-coding software like Handbrake to effect smooth play. There is no setting in Kodi that is codec specific. RE: Buffering only on videos from mobile phone - skullmonkey - 2017-08-10 Isn't the Apples codec standard video codec? I'm not planning to re-code them. Its just a family library that my kids want to watch. RE: Buffering only on videos from mobile phone - PatK - 2017-08-10 I suspect everything Apple does is proprietary. FTA: Apple Video is a lossy video compression and decompression algorithm (codec) developed by Apple Inc. and first released as part of QuickTime 1.0 in 1991. The codec is also known as QuickTime Video, by its FourCC RPZA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Video RE: Buffering only on videos from mobile phone - skullmonkey - 2017-08-10 And kodi have problems decoding QuickTime video...? I dont think so. RE: Buffering only on videos from mobile phone - PatK - 2017-08-10 So they should play fine, or perhaps MediaInfo would show a difference and comparison with other videos that play smoothly. https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download/Ubuntu RE: Buffering only on videos from mobile phone - skullmonkey - 2018-04-30 This is the export from one of the files I try to play but it simply pauses then continue multiple times. Its taken with iPhone 5. Almost all of the files does this. Quote:General Thanks, S@ RE: Buffering only on videos from mobile phone - fritsch - 2018-04-30 Can you post your Debug Log ? |
