I hope not

When intially creating strm do you have to scheldule automatic exports to update or is just checking watch changes in the cloud folder ok? I update often and if a time is needed should I set all the times the same for each folder?  Thanks

I have a large library with a lot of old tv shows . How can I create individual strm ? I have them in 3 folders but only want strm for certain ones . Also to save space on my device is it possible to save strm elsewhere or in the cloud to check for folder changes ?

RE: Google Drive for KODI - (available in the Kodi Add-on repository) - drive0001 - 2019-06-17

bad changes in gdrive
photos and videos from GOOGLE PHOTES will not szhow in gdrive , is it possible to adjust plugin to work after that changes ?
It is needed if i upload only by photos and want to watch in kodi

https://www.blog.google/products/photos/simplifying-google-photos-and-google-drive/
"Changes to automatic sync between Google Drive and Google Photos
Starting in July, new photos and videos from Drive won’t automatically show in Photos. Similarly, new photos and videos in Photos will not be added to the Photos folder in Drive. Photos and videos you delete in Drive will not be removed from Photos. Similarly, items you delete in Photos will not be removed from Drive. This change is designed to help prevent accidental deletion of items across products."

Were you able to add multiple sources like http://localhost:8587/source/my account/TV Shows  ?
I ended up going for the .strm approach but, yes, multiple sources are most definitely doable.

You need to have "Allow using Google Drive as a source" in the add-on settings activated.
Then you go to Videos, Add Videos, Browse. There you need to select "Add network location...".

In the window that comes up you select:
Protocol: Web server directory HTTP)
Server address: localhost
Remote path: source
Port: 8587

You press ok and then you can navigate Google Drive from the new entry created and select specific folders to create different video sources.
I would like to be clear about the main differences between using the exported files STRM (Method 1) or using the folders of google drive as a source (Method 2):
1) Firstly if I notice a difference in the speed of start of the movies or series, this is slower when Method 2 is used.
2) With Method 2, Once in a while, the empty Google Drive folder appears and all the access paths for the movies and series disappear. But this is solved by disabling the Add-on: Cloud Drive Common Module and the Add-on: google drive. Then restart Kodi and re-activate them.
3) ..

Any other difference you can find?

Is it possible for me to set up strm at the step 2 location and check for changes from my android device?

Hi there,

Awesome add-on, thanks!

I started having an issue today, where i cannot seem to play any video from my google drive.  I click it, the Working animation spins for a few seconds and then disappears.  The movie does not play.

I removed my account and re-add it, but it did not seem to make a difference.  I can see all my files, I just can't play them.  I have tried on  an android device Kodi 18 and My Windows computer Kodi 18; latest Google Drive add-on.

Movies won't play directly from the Google Drive addon or via the exported strm streams.

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Cheers,
Ken

Ok So I have more information about the issue:

It seems it is only the 2160p files that won't play.  If I set he setting in Google Drive, that says "Always Ask for format" before playing file, and I choose 1080p or anything other than Original Format, it works fine.

Does Google Drive not support full 2160p HDR MKV movies?

Cheers,
Ken

Weird... files just all started playing now... After about 16 hours of not working.

All good I think.

Is there a download limit for Google drive each day?  Maybe after you reach your upload limit?

Cheers,
Ken

Last question!  :-)  How long do the authentication tokens last, once I add an account?  I mean, when will i have to re-authenticate?

Cheers,
Ken

Aint nobody concerned here?  That photos and videos from GOOGLE PHOTOS will not show in gdrive , start in July   Huh
We will no longer be able to browse from this addon in KODI , the content from the google photos  folder, because it will not be...
Are there any alternatives planned?

Hey again - Yes i know the upload limit is 750Gb per day but the download limit is supposed to be 10Tb.  I have a business Gsuite account.

I'm wondering if anyone knows that if I hit my upload cap, will it stop my downloads.  It's really a mute point as I didn't hit my upload cap yesterday.

I'm just trying to figure out why I couldn't play files for a day.

Cheers,
Ken
