RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - LogicalUnit - 2020-01-16

Hi everyone, I am new to this thread. I have installed LibreELEC 9.2 (which contains Kodi 18.5) to a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, and a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (2GB). I have installed the Netflix v0.16.2 plugin, and I'm watching my streams. Yay!

Unfortunately, the performance of this plugin is slow. The debug overlay says I am getting only 15-25fps, the video is jittery, and the audio is out of sync. Pausing and resuming is also slow. This happens on both the RPi3 and the RPi4. Other H.264 video streams, such as YouTube, Foxtel Now, and Kayo Sports work extremely well.

Here is a link to my main Kodi log: https://paste.kodi.tv/eyafaxatug.kodi

What can I do to improve the performance of this plugin? Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide.

Thanks

What do we do if we have an old Android box that doesn't have a Netflix ESN number in the settings?

The plugin doesn't work; I get the key exchange failed error. I believe I must somehow manually enter an ESN number into the plugin's settings, but what do I use as my ESN number?

Have you tried ticking Override HDCP Status and Ignore Display Resoluction?
Also try using a low Max.resolution....

I tried those things but am still getting the same key exchange validation error when trying to play.

Any other thoughts?

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - CastagnaIT - 2020-01-17

TO ANDROID USERS

Netflix is making changes in the management of android ESNs, therefore generic ESNs (without the numerical part)
seem that gradually will no longer be valid.

So whoever is affected will receive the error:
Request Failed validation during key exchange

At the moment the only attempt to solve the problem is read your device ESN
- on some devices the ESN can be displayed in the system information of operative system
- the others can read the ESN by opening the official Netflix app settings

then copy it in full lenght, to Addon expert settings > Manual ESN

we are working on it but it takes a long time,
when there will be news or tests, will be published in this post "issue":
https://github.com/CastagnaIT/plugin.video.netflix/issues/421

Hi sorry to go a bit off topic here but...

The addon stopped playing the next episode and stops after every one, is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - AndreoBotelho - 2020-01-17

Hi all,
I've installed this add-on on librelec and kodi 9 but when I try to play any video it returns this error: "this tittle is not available to watch online, please try another"
It is possible to solve it?

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - fructal - 2020-01-18

@CastagnaIT thanks for developing this awesome addon!
However, I noticed additional issue apart from the need to enter ESN manually:
I own LG TV on which I can play Netflix, so I used its ESN and entered it into the addon (Kodi 18.5, Netflix addon v0.16.2).

I tried both formats LGTVxxxxx=xxxxxxxxxxx, or only the last xxxxxxxxxxx (11-digit number), but I'm getting the same error message - "Entity used incorrect entity authentication data type".
Tried resetting ESN and entering it again, turned Kodi off and on, no joy.

I see this exact error message was mentioned on GitHub back in September 2019 (https://github.com/CastagnaIT/plugin.video.netflix/issues/421), but was solved by itself (or by Netflix).

Did you or anyone else experience the same issue, and is there any solution, or is this another consequence of Netflix changing stuff under the hood?

Logs can be found here https://paste.kodi.tv/omazadoqim.kodi

Thanks in advance!

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - orenmi - 2020-01-19

where is Kodi installed? on the LG tv?
You need the ESN from the same machine that Kodi is installed on.

Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - fructal - 2020-01-20

Kodi is installed on Android TV box, and I entered the ESN from LG TV (found in TV's About section or in Netflix app installed on the TV).
