[Solved] Losing Resume point once leaving directory Bug - mazey - 2018-04-24
Hi, this has been preventing me from moving upto v18 from 17.6 it happens on both my bravia and samsung s5 phone running android 7/6. works fine on v17.6 broken v18 nightly.
Issue: start watching something you get a resume point if you exit the video. you can resume multiple times fine but as soon as you leave the directory of the show it loses its video resume point so you need to start from the beginning again. any help would be appreciated

EDIT: if you turn off play next video automatically then everything works fine you can leave and reenter and the video resume point is not lost. but with play next video automatically its broken and loses resume point once you leave the directory it also seems to only affect library added content in "tv shows" if you browse via video tab and play video and leave reenter its fine also even with play next video automatically enabled.
any devs, maybe you guys can take a quick look for me.

tried the latest nightly now when exiting the directory sometimes kodi crashes above bugs still present with a new crash bug that has been introduced in the last nightly

crashing has stopped in the latest nightly but resume point resetting bug still exists though

Unfortunately I get the same error using a mysql database. Resuming works fine as long I don‘t exit the gui. After ending and restarting KODI the resuming point (for a tv show) is the same as starting for the first time.

I couldn't really believe that no one else ever got this error. So I enabled logging and tried to analyze the situation. Well, I found out that the resume point could not be found (and re-written) because of a database inconsistency. As for the concerning episode(s) there was a missing/wrong refererence (idFile) in idEpisode.
After deleting and re-scraping these entries everything was fine again.

not for me it always loses it as soon as i leave the tv show directory. it works fine if you dont have play next file automatically on, as soon as you enable play next file automatically is when the problems start. try turning that option on (its not on by default) and youll see it loses the resume point again no matter what you do.

Sorry, no problem here any more. I tried with and without the option „playing next file automatically“. The resume point is set in any situation here again.
Try and check your database.

you are running v18 nightly on android? because ive tried everything after setting play next file automatically it loses the resume point once i leave and reenter the tv show. ive tried rescraping different shows and it affects everything in tv shows library, ive also tried with mysql and non mysql on 2 devices. 1 android tv and 1 phone.

Want samples for library material you can find all over the net, Plus he needs android and doesnt use library ... doesnt sound like he can. Just too hard basket....

No he doesn't need android, it is broken on all platforms, I tested it.
Trust me if you provide the info he wants, he can fix it.
