Tuner Card Recommendations - ritchieja - 2018-06-08
I am a Windows Media Center user and I am looking to move to KODI. Currently I use a cable TV tuner installed in my HDTV and would like to continue to do so with KODI. I am willing to move to satellite if I cannot find a reliable cable card.
Can anyone give me recommendations for tuner cards (be they cable or satellite) that are known to work with KODI?

Kodi itself does not have a direct interface to tuner cards. Instead, you need a separate program to do that. There is a windows program that builds on WMC (Server WMC), and Server WMC as the name suggests will act as a server to any Kodi client instance (the Kodi client is delivered with Kodi when you do a full install). Because of the way Server WMC works, it has limitations when programs are marked with restrictive copying rights. I only use OTA ATSC, so can't comment on cable card tuners.
