HTPC Nvidia 1050 v AMD RX560 - Garry74 - 2018-06-23

I want to upgrade my HTPC so I can play MKV UHD rips with HDR. I am not interested in gaming on the PC. I currently have a 300W PSU.

I must admit I am going around in circles reading conflicting threads of what I need. I would like seamless 23.976hz playback, but I do not think this is possible.

I am currently using Kodi 17.6.

I have been looking at the following:

Any help would be great.

As long as it concerns a Windows 10 setup, I don't think it will much difference. Both cards can do 4K HDR. Personally i'm more an Nvidia user, their drivers have always been rock solid to me. That said, I have no 4K or HDR to test any of the latest technologies.

Also, HDR support is still not finalized in Kodi, especially on Intel hardware the development is still a work in progress. Developers lacking the latest hardware to work and test on is one of the challenges.

Thanks for the reply and advice. It is a Win 10 setup.

I think i will go for the Nvidia card from your recommendation.
