- topfs2 - 2008-05-25 If you remove the mint theme with sudo apt-get remove xbmc-skin-mint and restart XBMC you will automagically be running another theme (PM3 I think) - wattazoum - 2008-05-25 I tried the Mint theme and ... I understand the problem now :-) . There is no menu item for settings. So you need to type on "s" (as in system) to get the entries. Then you can select the new theme you want. - natethomas - 2008-05-25 S! See, I knew it was somewhere around there. - Broads - 2008-05-25 LOL.. Thanks Guys, I'll try pressing S when I'm in linux next. - geinux - 2008-05-30 After reviewing the packages I think they made a mistake with the facilities of the skins, skins are installed at home (.xbmc / skin) and not in the directory / usr / share / xbmc / skin as they can not read ( at least I do). will have to find another way to install the skins as a package deb can not install a home. - wattazoum - 2008-05-30 There is two way of installing skins and both can work along. They can be install in /usr/share/xbmc/skin which is system wide skin and available to every user on the system. Then, each user can install his own skin in .xbmc/skin and this skin will be available only for him. I don't understand then why you think this should be changed. - geinux - 2008-05-30 Forgive by translating language, I am not English. I have installed several skins in / usr / share / xbmc / XBMC skin and can only read "Project Mayhem III", where a instalo the skins (.xbmc / skin /...) XBMC if you can read different skins. The installation of skins on (/ usr / share / xbmc / skin) XBMC can not only read other skins (Project Mayhem III). - can be a problem for permits or configuration XBMC? - geinux - 2008-05-30 - Install CM360 in /usr/share/xbmc/skin - read "Project Mayhem III" [img=http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/7914/pantallazonw7.th.jpg] -Install CM360 in .xbmc/skin -read CM360 [img=http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/6960/pantallazo1dv3.th.jpg] - geinux - 2008-05-30 geinux Wrote:- Install CM360 in /usr/share/xbmc/skin [img=http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/1897/pantallazo2za5.th.jpg] - TrocaNiklas - 2008-05-30 so will there be a 64bit version out anytime soon ?. Main reason is iam kinda new to ubuntu running it for 2month now, and i have ben using xbmc sens XBMP was First relesed i dont know howmany years ago that was more then 6 i think anyway i love XBMC and to c Xbmc and Linux join hands almost gives me a hardon. Only thing i dont want to emulate a 32bit due to hazzel etc so iam very ken to know when the 64bit version will be rlsed - wattazoum - 2008-05-30 @geinux : That's indeed strange. How did you install MC360 in /usr/share/xbmc/skin (using the PPA ? or Manual ? ) @TrocaNiklas : I don't think there will be an official 64bit version anytime soon. But if you search through the forum you might find some people who succeeded to create a 64bit. - geinux - 2008-05-30 wattazoum Wrote:@geinux : That's indeed strange. How did you install MC360 in /usr/share/xbmc/skin (using the PPA ? or Manual ? ) Install PPA (.deb). - sudo aptitude install xbmc-skin-* - Synaptic skin MC360 - wattazoum - 2008-05-30 I just tried what you said you where doing and I get all skins (using the latest SVN PPA) that are under .xbmc/skin + /usr/share/xbmc/skin - Livin - 2008-06-01 sorry for the Linux noob question but are the XBMC code builds themselves supposed to be available? After I installed the repository I only see xbmc-skin-* I loaded both... deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc-hardy/ubuntu hardy main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc-hardy/ubuntu hardy main adding deb-src did not add anything additional. thx - Livin - 2008-06-01 sorry for the previous post... I think I figured it out. I installed the SVN source and now I get more packages. Do I just need to choose 'xbmc' to install? |
