Issues with iSCSI DVD Drive - ptom - 2018-08-08

I've been messing around with a SE-208BW wireless DVD Drive connected via iSCSI on my current Kodi setup running on Windows and am having some issues getting it to work correctly.

I boot into Kodi using Launcher4Kodi, after boot I'll insert a DVD into the drive, but Kodi doesn't detect that a DVD drive has been inserted, if I go into File Manager it will show the drive letter (in my case FSmile but if I try to open it will prompt that no disc is in the drive, I've tried ejecting and resinserting but I get the same issue.

If I then exit out of Kodi into Windows the DVD drive shows under My Computer and the inserted DVD is accessible and playable through Windows. If I then reopen Kodi it will now detect that a disc is inserted and will play it back without issue.

It's got me a bit stumped as I originally thought the iSCSI service wasn't running on startup, but then I realised it wouldn't show the drive letter in File Explorer if this was the case... So it must be able to see the drive and know that it is connected, it just for some reason fails to detect a DVD has been inserted... has anyone got any on how to resolve this?
