Thinking of it now, i believe this is because of Skin shortcuts trying to migrate menu from another skin/setup to current skin (there's a setting to share/disable sharing menu between skins).

Edit: I uninstalled the Bingie skin, restarted Kodi, reinstalled the Bingie skin, and restarted Kodi again.  I still have the problem even with the fresh install on default settings.

First - YES. Paste a full debug log from starting to kodi to reproducing the issue.
Second - please try to explain exact steps to reproduce your issue, if I can reproduce on my end, it will be easier to resolve.

If I understood you right, you want to add a custom hub?
You can do that by adding a shortcut and set it under common - > 'my custom hub'
then un-lock the hubs, go to the hub (press on the shortcuts you created from mainmenu) and set widgets as you like.

'Spotify' is not a kodi addon, if you're referring to a kodi addon then it has nothing to do with the skin itself unless it requires skin-integration, which i'm in doubt.
Add more details to what addon you're referring, and how it is 'not working'. but probably should ask in the addon's thread/support.

Actually, with your bingie masterpiece was the first time I had the serious temptation to switch to something different. I tried to rearrange my setup to fit it but I'm still not 100% happy of results... Don't get me wrong, bingie layout is definitely my new default for both movies and tv shows but imho doesn't looks so well on other types of contents (like massive collection of music, games or pvr), mainly because it "forces" you to use an horizontal scrolling without having many content at a glance, which I found uncomfortable. I'm obviously referring to homepage behavior only, since I really appreciate a lot the possibility to keep a vertical scrolling with bingie views once inside an hub or anything else. I just think that netflix layout can't suits every single thing inside kodi.
To be honest, all the play with the amazing toy you gave us made me wonder how could be a renewed Modern Big Vertical Homescreen layout (still my favorite one) with a bingie flavour: at the moment my hompage looks like this. Do you think could be possible, in a future, introduce an homepage layout like this one? Basically I'm imagining the old modern big view with fixed bingie icons instead of letter menu entries, without a big spotlight space and an entire new column of widget's space available but essentially without altering the old vertical layout beahiour. Is it something that could be easily achieved or better for me to think other solutions if I want to renew my home? 

I can still set the episodes to be like they were but I refrain doing so and will probably have to add another viewtype...

The images you linked aren't working for me, but I get your point regarding to games/music especially...
Although they can be used with a suiting viewtype, obviously the main aim is to use this as a video-player frontend, more specifically designed for remote users on tv.
I believe that when trying to have all-in-one you lose everything, or become average or less in everything.'

Can't use transparent panel on mainmenu for that reason...not sure what's causing this but it's been like this on Marcel's version too.

Issue:
Inside Bingie video information and choosing either Similar or More info (Extended script) I am missing focused border so it's impossible to navigate around.

1) need to check if it's due to skin or skin helper widget....
2) screenshot will help i'm not sure where are u missing a focus border...

@louisefindlay23 , @djneil  - I believe you're referring to the same issue. You're speaking of default osd right? (bingie osd)
There should be a vignette mask when osd in shown. Could you take a screenshot perhaps?
