Xbox & Audio - aerogems - 2018-10-04

I'm guessing the answer to this question will be no, but can't hurt to ask.

I have my Xbox connected to an AVR, and I have the audio output set to bitstream over HDMI with DTS as the output. Works great for games, but when I want to watch something with Kodi or Netflix, and the source audio is stereo, the Xbox is clearly just sending silence over the other channels. With Kodi I can have it upmix stereo content, but then with Netflix I'm screwed, and if I set the audio output to stereo I of course lose out on the professionally mixed surround sound audio. So is there any way around this that doesn't involve changing the settings every time?
