Hey guys, to field off more questions related to Kodi 18 w/ tvOS, the biggest current problem is lack of the new buildsystem support: cmake.
The second problem is the lack of maintainers. Memphiz has done a fantastic job, but he doesn't have time to get it up and running.
We also need backporting from MrMC to add more new features.
As Memphiz said, this is what you'd need to start trying to get v18 running on tvOS:

6. Cross platform programming
7. The inner workings of the apple SDKs
As soon as one of those skills is missing you will end in big frustration and/or in a lot of wrong layered questions without answers.
