Unity and Mimic skins added submenus as widget and you can read interesting comments about it here.

@patzzz, thank you so much! It seems to be easier than I thought. I will look into this right away. Thanks again! Smile

EDIT: @Cyberdom , please test version 3.2.51 (GitHub or Amber repo).  This should be fixed now.  Please update, test, and let me know.  Thanks.
@bsoriano, for spacing, it's good for TV shows and movies.

However, I just noticed this problem with music.
Can you widen the space between the summary and the genre line in List view of albums and artists ?
@Cyberdom, please download and test with version 3.2.52 (GitHub or Amber repo).  Let me know if it is fixed now.  Thanks.

Regards,

Bart
@bsoriano, it's good, now the display is correct in the List view of albums and artists.

Thank you for the speed of the update.

Hello Bart,
thanks a lot, it works fine.

i have ssen in the forum, the Titan Skin can show the submenu icons as widget. Is it possible to insert the funtion in Amber?

kind regards grinario
@Grinario, I got some help, and have added the submenu as a shelf type.  You can add it by going to Default Shelves, Submenu.  Be advised that in this first version, I have provided some default icons for the most common submenu items.  I have also provided the capability to assign a thumbnail to a submenu item, so that it shows up if you add the submenu as a shelf.  The folder where you can browse for the thumbnails is the "media" folder of the skin, but you can press Back from that initial folder and go to any folder to get the thumbnail.  I might add in the future a folder with more thumbnails for you to choose from.

Please download the latest from GitHub, test, and let me know if this is what you were looking for.  Thanks.

Regards,

Bart

RE: Amber for Leia/Matrix - TheRealDeadMan - 2020-03-25

@bsoriano
Just thought I would stop in and say the Amber Matrix build always seems to work fine. It doesn't seem like a lot of people are using Amber and Matrix 9, but I don't read all posts anyway. Just stop in to see if you have added some updates to the Matrix build lately.

I run the Milhouse Kodi 9 Matrix beta builds, and rarely have a problem, besides the usual Python errors we get when running the newer Kodi versions.
I don't get crazy and try to modify menus and whatnot. Leave it basic, remove menu items I don't use - add a couple to paths and menu items that don't fit into the usual TV and Movie categories, and I'm happy.
You have the best Kodi skin on the market!

Thank you!

RE: Amber for Leia/Matrix - freakout87 - 2020-03-25

Hi there,

Wanted to report a couple of issues that I'd noted with the current version of Amber (3.2.23). I'm running it on the latest Kodi atop OSMC on a Vero 4K.
  • First, unless I've gone crazy, the "Choose Art" option has disappeared from the media info screen? Has that option been relocated elsewhere or is it just gone?
  • When browsing a list of media, the codec/media info tags (i.e. H.264, 5.1, 1080) don't update if the file changes. For instance, if I replace an old copy of a movie with a UHD copy, the tags don't update when I play the movie. They will only update if I choose to manually refresh the entry.
Thanks for your time, love your work!

@TheRealDeadMan , thank you for your kind words!

I don't know how to manage multiple Kodi versions in the same repo, so very soon I will be creating a separate Amber repo for the Matrix version, so that it is easy for the folks like you that are using Matrix to update Amber.  Once I do that, I will keep the Matrix version of Amber as updated as the Leia version.  Stay tuned.

Regards,

Bart

@freakout87, thanks for your kind words.

- You have not gone crazy, the Choose Art option is now in the "Extras" button in the video info dialog.
- The second issue is Kodi standard behavior, not a skin issue.  What I usually do (since I only use local nfo scraper) is to have the media management software I use (Media Center) read the tags from the new version of the movie, update the nfo, and then I do a Refresh of the movie in Kodi.

Bart

RE: Amber for Leia/Matrix - Johnny1982fd - 2020-03-26

Hi @bsoriano

thanks for this great skin.

I have a questions:

Where can i change OSD from top to bottom? (while watching a movie, timeline, ..)

Thanks in advance!

@Johnny1982fd , thank you for your kind words.  I imagine you mean the seek bar (shows you progress and end time), correct? if so, then there is no option to change this to the bottom.  I do not have any current plans to add this option.  To do this, I would need to redesign the OSD. I will add this to my to-do, but I cannot make any promises on when I can get this done.

Bart

RE: Amber for Leia/Matrix - Johnny1982fd - 2020-03-26

@bsoriano

Jesus! A reply after 10 minutes !? Man, i love you Wink

So i come from titan skin and Amber seem to be like a good alternative.

So, i have a little bit more suggestions for improvements. I will post it next days with screenshots.

Keep going to you very good work!

@TheRealDeadMan , I have updated the Amber Matrix repo (https://github.com/bartolomesoriano/repo.amber.matrix) with the most up-to-date version of Amber.  Now the version in the Amber Matrix repo is 3.3.52, which is on par with the 3.2.52 version for Leia.  Please install the Amber Matrix repo and keep Amber for Matrix up to date that way.  Thanks.

Bart

@TheRealDeadMan , thanks for reporting this.  I made a mistake with the Kodi version in the repo.  I have fixed it now.  Version 1.0.1 of the repo will work correctly.  Install the Amber Matrix repo version 1.0.1 and update Amber from there.  Please let me know if you still run into any issue.  Thanks.
