When creating genre channels, if I select a movie channel and a TV show channel for the same genre, instead of getting 2 channels it creates one channel overlapping movies and TV shows.

On my test I selected one TV Channel and one Movie Channel of the "Science Fiction" genre.

Epg only show 3 movie channels and it looks like the tv genre science fiction channel is overlaping with the movie genre science fiction channel.

Let me know if you want me to test or give other logs.

THX, I'll review... FYI

I want to clear up the "overlapping". There is none, don't even believe the code would allow it.

Have you tried clearing guide data, via instructions found in my previous posts?

Hello Lunatixz,

Trying PTVL using the Playlist method. The initial video plays then goes back to the EPG, no other video plays.

RE: What's on the horizon... PseudoTV Live Beta Blog & Discussion. - TVNow - 2020-07-11

Good afternoon,

Just updated Kodi Matrix to todays build and updated PseudoTV Live to 0.1.1d. I am still having the issue when selected a tv show that is close to finishing from the guide it will loop the loading graphic... returned to guide... and back to the loading graphic. This has happened several times upon testing this morning; but each time I was unable to capture a log as the file was too big.

Things I have tried:
- Uninstalled Kodi and installed to the latest version (7-11-20)
- Updated to PseudoTV Live 0.1.1d
- Restarted Nvidia Shield
- Kodi - settings - PVR & Live TV - Guide - Clear data

Suggestion:
- Could you have the show /movie that is close to finishing automatically play the next if there is a minute to 30 seconds left? This way it isn’t even close to the ending point and we can put this bug to bed.
- Does PseudoTV Live automatically clear guide data from the PVR & Live TV on Kodi’s boot up or is this something you could implement? When and how often is it necessary to clear guide data?

Problems that have been fixed with latest kodi update and PseudoTV Live version 0.1.1d:
- While changing channels a few had no audio (0.1.1b)
- While changing channels a few had no video / sound resulting in a black screen (0.1.1b)
- Channel kickback (A channel sometimes wouldn’t advance reverting to the previously selected channel) (0.1.1)

PseudoTV Live 0.1.1d
Nvidia Shield 8.0.2 (32.5.205.105)
Kodi Matrix 20200710-eed1349b-master-arm64-v8a (7/11/2020)

Should already do this...

- "Does PseudoTV Live automatically clear guide data from the PVR & Live TV on Kodi’s boot up or is this something you could implement? When and how often is it necessary to clear guide data?"

Short answer, NO! Smile this is not maintenance or something a user should be doing regularly. It's an easy way for us to rule out persistent issues during "Beta". I've been running this code in my bedroom for months without the need to clear the guidedata.
ie. its not part of PTVL's requirements and/or maintenance. You should also avoid doing this regularly; unless you understand the whys and whats...

-" While changing channels a few had no audio (0.1.1b)"
-" While changing channels a few had no video / sound resulting in a black screen (0.1.1b)"

I'm glad these issues cleared up for you; however, they are beyond the range of PTVL's code and should be considered an issue with Kodi and/or your system setup.

- " Channel kickback (A channel sometimes wouldn’t advance reverting to the previously selected channel) (0.1.1)"

I'd like to fix this, Logs have not revealed a root cause, and I've yet to encounter on my end.... Keep the logs coming and maybe I'll find something.
BTW nowhere in the code does it support this behavior; so I'm stupefied... perhaps some part of Kodi's PVR handles failed playback in this manner... log would tell.

RE: What's on the horizon... PseudoTV Live Beta Blog & Discussion. - TVNow - 2020-07-11

I am now testing, Tweaks - Playback Method - Playlist. I selected TV - Guide, and selected channel 10 (which was playing the movie Loophole). I forwarded the movie to the end credits and waited for the movie to complete. Once the movie completed I was sent back to the guide. Shouldn’t this have started the next movie / show in the guide? I have tested this on five tv shows / movies with the same result.

PseudoTV Live - Settings - Globals - Enable Overlay On

This post I cover what I am experiencing while enabling overly to on. I’m noticing the Studio / Genre logos will appear for about ten seconds then disappear for a few minutes and reappear. Also while watching channel 6 (Family TV) after Animaniacs ends it looped static... guide... static; log is below. Thank you for looking into this.

Error Log: https://paste.kodi.tv/uvahiqugoc

What I am experiencing via WiFi connection:
- When the icon appears and disappears there is a slight hesitation in the video (No Kodi loading graphic thank goodness)

Ethernet connection experience pending:
- I will test this on my direct connected Ethernet Nvidia Shields

Overlay questions / suggestions:
- Option to switch between static or a black screen when switching channels
- Variable control - length of time a logo appears and disappears
- Always on
- Size
- Bottom right or left
- Animated logo’s

I didn't see that in your last log, all indications are all your channels built correctly.

Have you tried clearing guide data, via instructions found in my previous posts?
Yes. I tried clearing guide data with kodi interface. Also tried exiting kodi, deleting the epg database and pseudo tv m3u, xmltv and genres. Tried again just now and found the same behavior.

I´ll try to clarify, what I called overlap with what I can see on Kodi EPG: Instead of showing the 4 channels I selected on PSeudoTV setup it shows 3 channels. In the example above, I have a Science Fiction Movie and Science Fiction TV channel. The SCIFI TV channel doesn't show on EPG and the SCIFI Movie channels that appears on EPG is mixing movies and tv shows, all with wrong duration.

PS: On a side note I've been trying to reproduce the loop error @TVNow is having, but it doesn't appear to affect my setup, a single machine running Windows 10 and local stored content. When I try to play a show that's too close to the end, it plays the next one instead. Also, when the one I'm watching finishes it plays the next one just fine. Sometimes, before starting the next one it briefly shows the "static", other times it shows the guide EPG, but every time the next shows begin to play without problems.

Same goes for the "Channel advancement", works fine everytime on my end.

But I recognize I don't have enough content stored to make a consistent test on that issue. Will try to increase it and keep testing.
