RE: 2019 - Amazon Fire TV Cube - AMLogic S922Z - meccs - 2021-02-23

So what is the recommended audio setting for the Fire TV Cube? Set Fire TV audio to "Best Available" and change Kodi audio settings to 5.1. Would that work best if I want 5.1 LPCM?

Edit: Since the question "what do you want to achieve" will probably come up: I just want 5.1 output if the source is 5.1 or higher.
Or are the settings described by fritsch here the only way to achieve this currently?

HI, i m looking for the best build and better settings  to get a good multichannel  setup.

as fritsch said ,  lpcm passtrough is discontinued  on newer build ,

but you can get lpcm 7.1  with nightly build up to 20201222 " kodi-20201222-c43636da-master-armeabi-v7a.apk"
set speaker mode with 7.1 (5.1)  and disable passtrough audio
Important, you must block the Amazon update   look at a while here "  https://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-block-software-updates-on-the-amazon-fire-tv-or-fire-tv-stick/ "   ( i choose to use a pihole dns but cloudfare is nice),  Amazon will  transcode this format in a wong DD+ format  soon

otherwise,

use this  settings, is the actual only way  to get multichannel audio out.

enable passthrough mode
enable  ac3 capability,  actice AC3 transcoding
uncheck all other format receiver capability   DTS,EAC3, DTS-HD.....

I have this issue with my fire cube with matrix ,
playing a video, the " zoom amount" doesn twork,   i can zoom in from 1.0,  the picture is only streching verticaly

RE: 2019 - Amazon Fire TV Cube - AMLogic S922Z - fritsch - 2021-03-07

I just ditched my FireTV Cube yesterday and went to back to a FireTV 4K stick ... after my mother in law asked if that "one guy there would use lip stick" ... I finally decided that I don't want to play alpha firmware tester for amazon who even did not get their Color-Matrix correct ... really sad for this hw-wise quite good / fast / robust device ...

Sorry fritsh i use the fireTV cube and FireTv  4K  stick, i haven t any color matrix,
My Tv is HDR10 capability  (TCL ep660 or p8m).

it is about BT2020 ?

Fritshcan can give a link of a sample or parameters to show this colorimetric problem ?

RE: 2019 - Amazon Fire TV Cube - AMLogic S922Z - fritsch - 2021-03-07

Play that in the "standard youtube app": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkQ4yfoqMA4

Take care on the floor and the color faces. Then compare it with any other device.

Edit: It's somewhere documented that this is caused by FireTV Cube -> AVR -> TV and some say to "workaround" this by plugging the device into the TV ... which I don't do for "various lpcm reasons" ...

Perfect. Might then be Denon specific. Yeah anyways. I had the 4k stick still around and just switched to that one.

Happy that it works for you and hopefully others.

In Firetv Cube settings you also set: upto 12 Bit right? Forcing 8 would also mitigate.

i set 10  bit  because  i believe it s necessary with hdr10 tv set. and   i force my avr with 4:4:4   enhanced hdmi

i try with other settings  8 and 12 bits,

RE: 2019 - Amazon Fire TV Cube - AMLogic S922Z - C4rter - 2021-04-01

I'm having an issue with delayed audio with Kodi for some files on my Fire Cube.

There are files that have a delayed audio of about 175ms. But if I play the file on my PC there is no such delay, so it has to be an issue with Kodi or the Fire Cube or something.
And then there are files that are perfectly fine and produce no delay at all.

I tried to find the same video but with different attributes and I managed to find one that has the delay and one that has no delay.

Here's one with delay:

And here's one without a delay:

I'm not sure if it's the audio codec or if it's framerate related or something different.

Do you guys know what this could be about and how I could fix that?
