I don't see you trying to play any files that log, you need to replicate your issue in order for the log to be useful.

It won't play the file as soon as I select the file to play, it boots to the menu. It does not show any errors on the screen, and it boots to the menu. I posted the video of what it's doing. If I'm doing something else wrong, please let me know.

I'm very sorry, but I don't see any browsing towards MP3 files, or being played or even started yet. Eek

Can you try the same on the Nvidia Shield? Its log file should show at least some details.

Please see the below from the Nvidia-shield.

As the problem is causing Kodi to quit the log uploader is selecting the wrong file I think. Go into the log uploader settings and select Post the old logfile option, then replicate again and go into log uploader to upload log file.

Just by way of explanation, Kodi has 2 log files:

Kodi.log - which is the log for the currently active Kodi session
Kodi.old.log - which is the log for the previous Kodi session

So when Kodi is closed and started again the Kodi.log from previous session gets moved to Kodi.old.log and a new Kodi.log is created.

I suspect issue is causing Kodi to quit thus the logs you have been posting is from the new Kodi.log after you open Kodi again, thus doesn't contain the period you recreated the problem.

I still don't see any navigation to a file or attempt to start playback.

If you did what I advised you should see "old log" in the uploader message as shown below

Do you get this?

So the logs can't be read, and based on what you see what would you suggest I do to fix the problem or is fixable?

It goes like this:

Session 1 - Actions logged to Kodi.log
Session 1 - Recreate problem
Session 1 - Kodi quits
Session 2 - Start Kodi
Session 2 - Session 1 Kodi.log is renamed as Kodi.old.log
Session 2 - new Kodi.log created

If you select view rather than upload you should be able to see whether it shows the right time period, if you've changed the settings as I advised then it should be viewing the Kodi.old.log file from Session 1

RE: Kodi stopped playing MP3 files - Blitz118 - 2019-10-06

Check the option to post the old logs, but when I run it don't see message that says "your old log". If I select view I can see the old log on TV screen. What am I missing?

RE: Kodi stopped playing MP3 files - jjd-uk - 2019-10-06

Ok as seem to be going round in circles using the log uploader do you have access to a PC which you can use to upload logs? if so can you see if you fair any better with this method

https://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file/File_manager_access

Note the B source (what is on the right hand side) can be a USB stick that you can them moved from Shield to PC, or you can set it to be a network share (SMB, NFS) that both the Shield and PC have access to.

Copy across both Kodi.old.log and Kodi.log to PC and use https://paste.kodi.tv/ to copy each of the file contents.
