Yes I think so.

I had the impression that the new TMDB TV Show scraper by pkscout could handle a parsing nfo file which contained a link from a different provider, but after testing I realised it cannot. The scanner ignores the parsing nfo and and the scraper performs the normal search.

Not sure if this is a bug that is crept in or it is intended.

@pkscout Log file here... https://paste.kodi.tv/ayapinuqiv.kodi
Line 3 shows the parsing file being read and then tries to find a match
Line 24 shows that a match could not be found and the scraper performs the standard search.

I guess it has something to do with the slug address... https://www.thetvdb.com/series/future-man
Even if I use the id in the address, it still does not correctly parse the show... https://www.thetvdb.com/dereferrer/series/330997

The new TMDb scraper does not parse nfo files from other providers.  It will parse the stored URL for the old TMDb XML scraper that is stored in the database as the show ID to help with transition, but that was only possible because they still have the same show ID from TMDb at the end of the day.  I had intended to (and still could at some point) write some logic to deal with nfo files from other providers, but it ended up being way more complicated than I expected.  I can easily parse the outside provider show ID from nfo file, but triggering a search on that ID at the point where that happens ended up being non-trivial. So while I'm not saying it will never happen, it probably won't be anytime soon.

Great, thanks for the clarification Smile

If you don't intend to pay for TVDB, then yes. But hold out for a bit before making any changes as we are discussing options with TVDB for Kodi users.

If that pans out that's the best Christmas gift 2020 could give me 🤞

Which scraper will provide clearart and clearlogo artwork? I used the regular TVDB one yesterday with the Artwork Dump addon and neither one of those got scraped/dumped.

Unfortunately TMDB doesn't do DVD order I just noticed which is helpful for releases like Firefly which the network destroyed with their airdate.

Unfortunately after refreshing an episode actors listed at TVDB for the whole series (and not just for specific episodes) get listed twice in the episode details. It becomes visible when you leave the episode details after refreshing and then open them again:

Reminds me of an issue we had a few months back ...

Thanks in advance for looking into it.

@kekomat

Sorry to say, but this scraper is unmaintained and will be marked as broken within the next two months.

TVDB group will be releasing their own scraper, hopefully around the same time.

No fixes are available for this scraper.

So out of curiosity with some shows being listed as having more then the 3 original sort functions (Original, DVD, Absolute).... How do we add those sorting variants (ie ReZero having a Director's Cut now? I'd rather not wait (but will if I have to) to be able to sort my copy this way. Also I tried adding a Director's Cut Version to ReZero on TVDB but A) it wont let to add something of the same name (even though it would have the added label of Director's Cut) & B) Someone else already added the Director's Cut sort to the original ReZero. Might be something Id have to take up with the forum of TVDB themselves.

You can't using the scrapers. That is a v4 API feature that won't be released until after April. The best you can do is sort your own collection by manually changing the SxxEyy after scraping one of the other orders.

They closed their forum. You will need to lodge a support ticket instead.

Thank you for the clarification. So time to move on to the TMDB TV Show scraper :/ Hope the manual installation of the Python version is not too much of a hassle ...

Should be pretty easy. Use the Get More button in item 5b...

RE: TVDB - TV Show scraper - shedrock - 2021-03-02

If this question has been asked before, I sincerely apologize. I would just like to know if it is better for me to switch over to TMDB tvshow scraper, and will it continue to work with Leia? If so, I would also like to know why it is so slow compared to TheTVDB scraper.

Regards,

Shedrock
