I was seeking for a solution on my own for a while but hadn't found something neither the correct spot to place my issue. Maybe someone of you can lead me to the intended place.
I'm using Kodi 18.9 on my raspberry (LE 9.2.8) with the TVDB scrapper (3.2.8) and have troubles fetching the IMDB ratings.
Shows are scrapped without any problems except the imdb ratings.
I dug through the logs and it looks like the id (tt.....) gets fetched from tvdb server but couldn't get retrieved from imdb.com.
This could possibly be caused by changes at imdb website.

Has anyone encountered similar troubles? Is a fix in progress or how to fix this?
Thanks!
Hi everybody,
i've similar issue: scraping tvshow with tvdb works but results is shown with no ratings. Refreshing ratings with light imdb ratings update not produce effect; seems that light imdb ratings update is not updating even movie section.
I'm using Kodi 17.6 Krypton

Hi. IMDB has changed their page format. To fix the issue, open file addons/metadata.tvdb.com/tvdb.xml, navigate to the very bottom and replace line
xml:
<expression>"ratingCount":\s([0-9,]+),\s*"bestRating":\s"[^"]*",\s*"worstRating":\s"[^"]*",\s*"ratingValue":\s"([0-9.]+)</expression>
with
xml:
<expression>"ratingCount"Sad[0-9,]+),"bestRating":\d+,"worstRating":\d+,"ratingValue"Sad[0-9.]+)</expression>
Here is the full tvdb.xml with the fix applied.

The addon will now correctly parse the new page format, just refresh data for whatever shows you need.

RE: TVDB - TV Show scraper - flappy81 - 2021-11-15

So it seems neither plugin works optimally any longer. Just did a full cleaning and rescan of 20+ shows, and the results are now completely nerfed. Only one piece of art for each category are now available (poster, background etc.).
Can anyone confirm if this has to do with mentioned deprecated Team-Kodi plugins, TVDB payed sub now in effect, or perhaps both?

Please provide a Debug Log that captures the scraping problem

RE: TVDB - TV Show scraper - flappy81 - 2021-11-27

Thanks for replying. I have found better results in general using TMDb, so no need Smile

Using tvdb scraper on Kodi 17.6, version 3.2.8

The Netflix tv show Elves is not scraping correctly. https://thetvdb.com/series/elves-2021

Debug log is here: https://paste.kodi.tv/ijudipalew.kodi

I even try with manual search but there's no way of finding it.

I have the same problem with TMDB tv shows scraper but I'll post about that in the relevant thread.

Try naming the series without (2021). Just use Elves.

Yeah, that I had already done. And that's how I discovered that something was wrong. I suddenly found an Elvis tv show in my list. Redid it for you right now.

Debug log: https://paste.kodi.tv/povawaloge.kodi

Edit: solved this with parsing nfo file. Still don't understand what's going wrong with this show.

Yep, something weird with this show.

I don;t think there will be any fixes as TVDB stated they are almost ready to release their new scrapers, so all the existing TVDB scrapers will be marked as broken.

Uhm... Huh
So they're gonna release Kodi scrapers themselves? Is that the scenario?

Yep. They are unofficially available if you want to try them out.

Is it this one? https://github.com/thetvdb/metadata.tvshows.thetvdb.com.v4.python

Mainly concerned on what happens when one changes scraper for ongoing tv series. Probably best to rescrape the whole series, since IIRC you end up with two series with the same title (one with the old episodes already scraped by the old scraper, one with the new episodes that are going to be scraped by the new one).

Yep. Make sure you periodically check the Releases page for updates as there is ongoing work... https://github.com/thetvdb/metadata.tvshows.thetvdb.com.v4.python/releases
For movies... https://github.com/thetvdb/metadata.movies.thetvdb.com.v4.python/releases

At worst, you just need to Refresh the tv show (not the episodes when asked) and that will replace the <episodeguide> with the new one. But usually the scrapers are smart enough to ignore the older <episodeguide> when it encounters one.

In your "Elves" folder make a text file called "tvshow.nfo" and in that file put one line with"http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=389705"

Omit the quotes obviously. Try that and see if it works.

RE: TVDB - TV Show scraper - aoakley - 2022-01-26

The "tvshow.nfo" trick has always worked for me.

It's interesting that Elves (2021) fails using the scraper. The only thing that I can think of that is unusual about this series, is that its original language was Danish, and that its original series title in Danish is "Nisser". I wonder if that is significant? I wonder if it would be scraped correctly if the folder had been named "Nisser (2021)" ?

Thanks for taking the time to reply to this. I actually ended up using that solution as mentioned here:

But I do appreciate the help anyway.

Nope, I tried that, it wasn't working.
