18.5 bug with NVIDIA Shield - chaps31 - 2019-11-27

Hi,

I use Kodi with my NVIDIA Shield 2017. I did the update to 18.5. Since big bug... Quickly after i lauch and stop a video or maybe quickly after i use the App i don't try without launching a video, the interface react as i push all the time the button to navigate between menu. So i can't change subtitle for example, the choice is stuck to the top if i push the button to go down the first choice is blinking as i push up and down in the same time, when i go to the previous menu, the selected item move quickly to the top and stuck there or left, it depends. if i use a mouse to select a menu immediately the selection goes up or left as i push all the time on the right or up button of the remote.
I quit Kodi reboot and that's ok for 2 minutes and bug again. I'm sure it's the 18.5 update, everything was ok before.

Help, thanks.

Remove your gamepad

Hi,

Thank you for your answer, so for now we can't use a gamepad with nvidia shield if we use Kodi 18.5 ? I never use it but the gamepad is always connected, i have to find a place at home where Bluetooth doesn't connect...

I currently cannot take a look into my shield but you can configure gamepads/inputs in the system settings of Kodi. In Windows for example you can open driver settings to disable xinput etc.

Usually your issue only happens if something is pulling a trigger on your gamepad. Check if the thumbstick is pressed somehow because it's not "laying correct" on the ground/device.

seriously? Huh

I currently only have my remote attached because it was charging. But will try.
